Mahinda Rajapaksa by distribute “Sil Clothes” flouts election regulations
Today the 15thh instant the United Peoples Freedom Alliance candidate for the Kurunegala district former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had made a tour around all Buddhist temples in the district and had distributed “Sil Clothing”.
It has been reported by the officials of the Caffe organisation who are closely monitoring the forthcoming general election.Today morning Mahinda Rajapaksa had gone to the Kurunegala Bauddhaloka Pirivena along with his henchmen with a stock of “Sil Clothing” and instructed them to distribute them.
It is reported that at some Buddhist temples the special task police had prevented them from distributing theses “Sil Clothing”as it is an election offence.
Mahinda Rajapaksa and his supports had gone in 12 vehicles displaying his preferential vote Number and visited places like Wariyapola,Demataluwa,Dickwehera,Wedanda, Colombagama and Randeniya and had met the villages. The Caffe organisation officials had brought this issue to the elections commissioner.
