Supporter of the UNP killed in Batticaloa

A supporter of the Batticaloa district United National Party while travelling in his motor cycle along Oddamawadi Huda Church road had been shot dead by an unknown assailant.

The incident had taken place on the 15th instant at 12.10 p.The unknown gunman who killed the UNP supporter has been on J Ameen.It has been reported by the Caffe organisation that the victim had been shot at his mouth.

The candidate Amir Ali had stated that the closest reason is that as he was taken exclusively for taking part in his political activities and for not for any other known reason.

It has been reported that there had been conflict between the Amir Ali’s UNP party and the Ceylon Muslim congress party factions for a long length of time.

It is learnt that about five years ago also there had been conflicts between the members of the United National party and the Ceylon Muslim Congress party and another life had been lost during that period.
