Doctors plan to roundup Isurupaya tomorrow demanding schools for their children
A plan has been drawn and is reported that the doctors in desperation in their requirement for schools for their children are to roundup the premises of the education ministry at Isurupaya in Pelawatta and take into the officers into house arrest tomorrow the 27th instant.
The plight of the doctors is that after returning to Sri Lanka after completion of the post graduate studies as consultants they are posted to hospitals in various parts of the Island. Hence they need
schools for their children to attend. In this regard the officials of the Educational ministry have not made any intervention they claim.Tomorrow the 27th instant is the public day. Hence the minister and all officials should report to Isurupaya. These doctors would round up the ministry and if needed the officials and the minister would be kept on house arrest. This was stated by the secretary of the government medical officers association Dr Navin de Zoysa.
“Stressing on this matter it has been stated that during the past four months this matter was brought to the notice of the President, Prime Minister and the Minister of Education. The related doctors had made a protest walk and made protest campaigns. They have also have had many media briefings The President had written on this matter to the Minister of Education. The children are still at home while the doctors are attending to their duties in hospitals. The doctors have obtained leave to be on the streets and to meet the Minister of Education who is sleeping.”
Owing to this reason over hundred doctors would roundup the Ministry of education until their matter is resolved which is their aim.
