West Indies beat India and makes way towards T20 Final
The West Indies team were successful in beating India in the semi-final of the World Cup played today at Wankade.
The West Indies who won the toss decided to field
first and the Indians who batted first could collect 192 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in their 20 overs. The West Indies however were gallant enough to chip in with the required runs for a win on the 4th ball in the last over.Though their hopes were lost because of the dismissal of Chris Gayle for a paltry score almost at the start of the innings, they managed to achieve their target. It was of special interest to note that in this innings on two occasions Indians were unfortunate enough to lose two opportunities of grabbing two West Indian scalps by holding on to two catches given on no balls. The innings played by Simmons was outstanding and he was not out with 83. The Finals of the T20 World Cup would be played between West Indies and England.
