Upside down protest at Ambagamuwa!
A former Member of Parliament standing on his head for half an hour at a provincial council property demanding the government to hurry up by holding the next provincial council elections because it is necessary that the provincial
councils already dissolved need be once again activated, was reported today. It was Mr. Helapiya Nandaraja, a former MP of the Alliance of the the Ambagamuwa Provincial Council who was standing on his head in this manner for about half-hour at the same time having adorned himself with black bands. He says that though his representations applied with force to the Yahapalanaya government to hold provincial council elections on two feet placed on the ground both verbally and in writing had fallen on deaf ears, he had resorted to expressing his protest this way by standing on his head. Some other MPs also were displaying posters in this connection for his support.
