Not even pieces of Facebook that changed governments

No pieces of Yahapaalanaya either

-- Minister Nimal Siripala

Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva addressing a meeting in Ella, Uva, Karandagola area has subjected the government to severe
criticism. He stated that the public are now regretting about the foolishness they committed on January 8th by being duped by the Facebook. The ideas he expressed are as follows:

"During the election period the 'valalu velenda' came. Got duped and gave the vote. Today there's no 'valalu' nor the 'velenda'. Some people got cheated by the Facebook. Today there's no pieces even ... of the Facebook. Not even pieces of 'yahapaalanaya'. Certain Ministers who put forward the board of 'yahapaalanaya' and tried to get across the Diyawanna Oya today just keep looking up like rotters without doing any work and accepting the allowances and privileges. But that's not what the public looked forward to. The public gave the vote to the 'yahapaalanaya' not just to get Ministerships and just to wait for them to get their allowances and privileges for nothing. Where are those who spoke of corruption and terror today? Those who spoke like that have got to a side and keep gazing. We also are waiting to see what is going to happen from 'yahapaalaya'.

On the invitation of President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena we decided to join the government. We did so to do some service to you'll. This is not our government. Just because we went to a National Government, we can't let the Sri Lanka Freedom Party dissolve away. Just because we joined hands with the National Government we are not asking to give the vote to the Elephant. That's our hope. Today the JVP has gone to pieces. There's no place where the 'Seenuwa' was now. If Mr. Maithripala has abolished the Executive Presidentship and would even abolish the rest of it too ... it would be good. We joined with the SLFP Chairman Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and accepted Positions of Ministers to do some service to the people who gave their support to the Alliance and not to join with Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha. We should now unite. Now itself we should get together and bring about an Alliance Government under President Maithripala. Let's get together for the next General Election".

Sheshadri - Sampath 'apartment story'

What is the truth of the Sheshadri - Sampath 'apartment story?'

A heated outlook has dawned on the divorce issue between up-and-coming actress Sheshadri and Sampath de Silva who have been subjected to a topic of
discussion by now because of the curiosity combined with unconfirmed information. However, Gossipa has come to know that some news items could be partial and the true situation could be somewhat different.

The marriage between Sampath, the son of Ranjan de Silva who acted as the Media Director of the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa getting married to the second child of three children, Sheshadri of film producer Dinesh Priyasad took place by a proposal and at that time it was a ceremony which drew immense prominence and reports about their honeymoon trip inclusive of the party thrown at President's House and other various festivities which were published across various media including Gossipa.

We reported about Sheshadri Priyasad leaving her husband and also about the very first day that they had filed legal action. Sampath however did not mention the specific reason as to why Sheshadri happened to leave him when he gave the interview to us after that. What he mentioned was that she disliked his younger brother coming and staying at the home and that all of a sudden she had said that she was going for a class but that she never turned up for months. Whatever it is, several months after she had left him, Sampath had forwarded a photograph of an apartment and the two of them with a woman police constable behind them and with some others standing close to a door of a house supposed to be in that apartment, to websites saying that the location where Sheshadri was carrying on an illicit affair was caught red-handed (we did not publish this until its truth was confirmed). In any case, Gossipa has received news about a story and a number of other incidents entirely contradictory to the former story. It is upto you to enquire about its veracity. Sheshadri or her lawyers have declined to talk about this incident while an intimate person of Sheshadri has explained the following in our presence:

"This marriage took place entirely at the necessity of those on Sampath's side. Sheshadri became despondent about this marriage even before three weeks elapsed after the wedding. What she told me was that her husband as well as his mother were harassing her. When this was conveyed to her mother, though it was thought that the child should be rescued from this marriage, they had been scared of the political power the husband's father wielded. Even though the parents had approached the police to make a complaint, the police had refused to even accept the complaint. The family and the sisters had received threats, it is said. When problems were becoming aggravated, she became someone like a slave in the house. She had no permission to go home or to communicate with the father and mother. During that period Sheshadri had no opportunity to go for acting, to attend any party, to go about anywhere or to attend any ceremony as such. On most occasions it was only her two sisters who were present at ceremonies. Not being able to bear up this mental pressure, Sheshadri tried to scoot out of the house on a couple of instances or so. But such attempts were foiled. Actually I know, Sheshadri once got pregnant; she told me. I know that as a result of an assault her embryo was destroyed and she suffered a severe shock as a consequence.

Whatever it is, after the government toppled, this fear of Shesha came down. It was at that time that she escaped from the house. She continued with her studies. But she lived in fear. One day when she was coming back after a class, she noticed somebody following her and she had phoned home. On that occasion her father had asked her where she was then and had given her instructions to go to a friend's apartment in Wellawatta for safety purposes. It was at that point that the 119 was called and the husband who had followed her had opened the door in the house where she was. Right at that moment Shesha's father together with some officers of the crime division of Wellawatta Police had gone to that spot. What those people are arguing is that the legal wife had gone to other places without informing the husband. But what this party on the other hand say is that because there was no safety, she had gone there for safety. Whatever it is, a different and strange story had been woven by involving the photo of this incident, thus throwing mud at her".

to airport ....

saying it is a waste (video)

It is reported that the roof of the terminal which takes the shape of a massive lotus flower expected to be newly erected as the roof of the terminal
building at the Katunayaka Bandaranaike International Airport which had been estimated at a cost of a huge sum of two thousand two hundred million of which work is in progress has been discontinued by Minister Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga considering it as an unnecessary expenditure. In fact, Arjuna had arrived at this conclusion at the time he was the Minister of Aviation some months ago.

He had stated that apart from displaying an aspect of beauty for which it is erected, this huge lotus flower which costs a sum of 2200 million serves no other purpose. When enquiring as to who is able to enjoy the beauty of the lotus flower, the authorities concerned had responded saying that it is only the pilots who are able to see it and that it is something that could not be seen by those coming to or going out of the airport.

It had been planned by the previous government for this to be erected with a special type of metal in an attractive way. Since it is absolutely of no use to construct something of this nature by expending such a big sum of money, the Minister has issued instructions that it be removed from the plan envisaged. The terminal of the airport is equipped with modern facilities and comprise of three levels and a different type of roof with low cost would be installed instead.

Shown below is the video with the computer structure of the building with the lotus flower-shaped roof.

The very same murderers of Ekneligoda .... admit murder of Sampath Lakmal!

The very same murderers of Ekneligoda ....

admit murder of Sampath Lakmal!

It is no secret that reporting news was a matter of fearsome activity because of mediamen were
subjected to harassment, threats and murder, some years back. Sri Lanka in fact was at the bottom of the index internationally where freedom of the press was concerned. The murders of Ekneligoda and Lasantha were were only outstanding examples in that connection and while certain individuals who lost their lives were not highlighted in the process those mysterious murders were lost in oblivion.

Details about those who were responsible for the death of Ekneligoda have now been exposed by the new government while it has been revealed that the young journalist, 23 years of age named Sampath Lakmal Silva too was murdered in the same context of a political motivation.

A lieutenant colonel who has already been remanded as a suspect in the murder of Ekneligoda is found by investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department that he is connected to the murder of Sampath too. Sampath Lakmal who was a freelance journalist was killed down Jayawardena Road, Dehiwala on July 1st in the year 2006. He had been abducted while travelling somewhere close to his house and had been shot on the head and murdered. Police investigations in that respect too had not been properly carried out at that time. Sampath Lakmal Silva who functioned as a freelance writer of the Sathdina newspaper at the time of his death was providing news about political internal secrets and was also connected to establishments such as Lakbima, Aratuwa and the TNL Media. He was an Old Boy of St. John's College, Nugegoda. He reported information related to crime and security and was someone who kept close relationships with the police as well as higher ups in the army forces, it was understood.

The closest reason for him to be killed according to information so far received is that a certain high official of the security was enraged because of some matter that Sampath had reported. Sampath had been living with his mother in their house in Werahera, Boralesgamuwa. When he was having his dinner in his house on 30th June in 2006 he had received a telephone call from an army officer who had cordial relations with him, after which he had told his mother that he would go to see a friend of his and had left home that very moment because of that message. On that occasion a group attached to the army had abducted Lakmal on the way and had shot him on the head after taking him to Jayawardena Road in Dehiwala and had bolt a retreat subsequently, it was revealed at investigations. The police were able to retrieve 3 bullets of a 9 mm. pistol from the place where Lakmal was killed.

It has been revealed from investigations that the cause of murdering him was a conflict which flared up over an unnecessary incident about which he had reported. It has also been revealed at investigations so far conducted that one of the two lieutenant colonels who has been taken into custody over the Ekneligoda killing has also directed the murder of Lakmal Silva too at the necessity of this colonel. Two lieutenant colonels and a member of the army are still in prison, subjected to accusations over the murder of Pradeep Ekneligoda.

Gammanpila requests Maithri to vacate position as President of SLFP

The member of parliament and leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya , Udaya Gammanpila has made a plea to President Maithripala Sirisena that if he honestly loves the Sri Lanka
Freedom Party he should leave from his post as the President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
were able to achieve it for other reasons.
He had added this at a media conference held at the head quarters of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya. He had said this when a media reporter had drawn attention to a letter that the secretary general of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had issued to the Members that they should not indulge in any activities of any other party.

Gammnanpila had further said that both the Secretary General and the President of the SLFP are both persons who do activities against the principles of the party to defeat the party. Some worked for the 08th January presidential election to get ministerial posts..Yhey also worked to make the party defeated in the August 17th general election. Those who won. However Prasanna Ranatunga and Kumara Welgama won with a large number of preferential votes. This shows that the SLFP has a peoples' vote. But they have not received the peoples' vote. Hence he had told Duminda who has no peoples' vote cannot tell them not to work with him.
