This information had been conveyed by deputy Minister Ajith P Perrera at a meeting in Bandaragama area had this to say:

"This is an abnormal story.People may die owing to hurting feelings.Would die before been arrested. But to write a letter like this and to commit suicide is very suspicious saying it was self and not he who committed the murder.Really it is not certain when he hung himself or he was killed and hung like that.

However police investigations have revealed that Lasantha Wickematunga was killed near the bakery junction in Attidiya, Dehiwala in the Colombo district. The deceased army sergeant major Jayamanne had at his dwelling in his village on that 100 kilometers away. This could be confirmed via his telephone calls when perused. Now we feel this is very suspicious. It appears that today to cover up for a murder more murders are committed .This is to mislead the people."

Special cabinet paper to allow to supply elephants to temples for Peraheras

It is reported that President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to submit a  special cabinet paper for approval to allow the supplying of elephants to Buddhist temples to deploy for Peraheras.

The reason for this decision is because a number of elephants who had been illegally kept in
Buddhist temples and devalayas had been taken into the possession of the authorities of the wild life department. This has resulted in a dearth of elephants in Buddhist temples and devalayas.

The President had added that as during his tenure as President he will not allow the culture and customs of the peraheras to be destroyed.
It is reported that in Buddhist temples and in other religious institutions about 30 elephants kept sans permits have been arrested by the authorities of the wild life  conservation department after the 08th January 2015.However against these elephants legal proceedings are been conducted.

Sri Lankan Airlines to suffer further loses with refurbishment,Mattala not an option

It is reported that owing to the proposed refurbishment plans of the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport a pruning of a huge  620 flights are to be done.

It was earlier added that only a 200 number of flights are to be curtailed which was only 07 flights for
a day.

The Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lankan Airlines Suren Ratwatta had added that in order to earn revenue for a day  flights for a period of 11 to 14 hours  are needed.Hence profits cannot be arrived at by having flights for 06 hours a day. As a result  further losses are to  be incurred during the period of refurbishment of the BIA.

This situation has arrived as although the Sri Lanka Airline authorities had wanted to have the activities in the refurbishment to occur in the nights the Companies who are to undertake the work are not in favour of it.

The travelers do not wish to spend time after they land at the Mattala International Airport.Hence that proposal had to be thrown away  was what the Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lankan Airlines had quipped.

Beer party at Ambalangoda Prajapathi Gothami Girls' School ... caught high and dry!

10 Ordinary Level students of a leading Balika school, Ambalangoda Prajapathi Gothami Vidyalaya in the Southern Province have been suspended from classes over an incident of having enjoyed a beer party inside a classroom on World Children's Day which fell on last 1st, it is reported.

One student among the students who was enjoying the beer during a time when their class teacher
was not present had accidentally spilled her beer can and it resulted in the whole classroom smelling of beer and this situation was noted by the teacher who came in next to conduct her class. In order to cover up the behaviour of the students who danced the devil in the classroom after the bout of beer the Principal of this balika school had strived to make amends. However because of the complaints made by the staff and parents of students to related disciplinary parties, the provincial education authorities had interwined and had meted out the aforementioned punishment, it is reported.

These students had got down 13 cans of beer from a hotel in Ambalangoda town and subsequently had begun partaking in the fun around 10.30 that morning inside the grade 11 classroom and in the process a beer can in the hands of a particular student who was 'high' had accidentally dropped on the floor and it is understood that as a consequence the entire classroom had been enveloped with the odour of beer. The teacher who entered the classroom after a short while to have her class had smelt the rat and on enquiring this situation she had been able to find the used 11 empty beer cans stuck to sticks on the fence of the adjoining the classroom concerned.

All comments of the students were recorded by the teacher on her mobile phone and this complaint was forwarded to the Principal later. But the response the teacher received as a result was simply a blagarding in return which she never dreamed of. The students who partook at this beer party were summoned to the Principal's room and subsequently the advice she had given the students was that if this scene came into the ears of outsiders it would be relayed across the media. "This is an utter disgrace to the whole school. If anybody was to ask you'll , tell that person that you'll didn't drink beer ... that you'll drank some soft drinks inside the cans". But neither the previously mentioned teacher nor the staff of teachers had agreed to this. Their opinion on the other hand was that if the other children were to be brought up well, these culprits would have to be punished. It was after that they had taken steps to complain about this incident to the Ambalangoda Education Zone office getting together with the parents. After the enquiries, the 10 students involved were suspended from classes from Monday October 17th.

In that instance the Chairman of COPE Committee, Member of Parliament of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Mr. Sunil Handunetti voiced his protest that these were not his own ideas and had pointed out that they were the Auditor General's independent observations and therefore it could not be dismissed. But the UNP group kept on expressing their views without a break and as a result the Chairman of the COPE Committee stated that the new report cannot be endorsed according to his conscience. MP Sunil Handunetti who went into a temper on that occasion then got up from the Chairman's seat in a rage saying, "If influences of this type is made ... appoint a person you want!" This COPE Report is a report that is expected to be forwarded in parliament tomorrow (25). The statement given to Sirasa Channel after this incident, from below
