Duminda Silva severely warned for walking out of court premises without permission

The court case of the  Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was continued  yesterday.When the 3rd witness in the murder case Chaminda Ravi Jayanath more popularly known as Dematagoda Chaminda was in the witness box was questioned by the three bench judge panel the former member of parliament and the 11th
witness in this murder case Duminda Silva had suddenly left the court premises without prior permission. The three bench judge panel having seen his leaving without respecting the court procedures had told the prison officers to recall him back.

The prison officers had promptly acceded to the orders of the three bench Judge panel and recalled Duminda Silva back to the court premises.The Judges had severely warned Duminda Silva for leaving court premises without  permission.

Duminda Silva had apologized to the  three bench Judge panel saying he left out of the premises as he had to quest his thirst. He had been told that had if he required water and a request was made  he would have been provided with water.

Addressing a media conference in the UNP headquarters at Siri Kotha on the 26th instant the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam had added that the UNP May Day rally would be held in Colombo, the SLFP rally  in Galle while the May Day rally of the rogues would be held in
Kirillapona.

Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam had reiterated that those who are accused of theft during the era of the previous government have all got together to cover up the charges of each other. The motive of the separate May Day rally  called the joint opposition rally is also because they do have the courage to join with the SLFP's in Galle as they are all guilty of misappropriation of  government funds  during the tenure of the previous government.

The Sri Lanka pace man in 50 over and T/20 cricket Lasith Malinga is suffering  a knee injury.The panel of doctors of the Sri Lanka Cricket has furnished a report  on the condition of Lasith Malinga's knee condition.It is not recommended that he should undergo surgery again.But what he need is complete rest and to keep away from playing cricket.

He has been requested to take another MRI scan after three months to ascertain the condition of his knee.The panel of doctors have recommended rest for six months.

The other day in Parliament Member of Parliament Kumara Welgama and deputy minister of welfare Ranjan Ramanayake had been involved in an argument.During the course of the argument Kumara
Welgama had said that he had even loved an actress.Then Ranjana had said that he too had loved the same actress.

Afterwards Ranjan Ramanayake had called Actress Nayana Kumari to explain what really happened.But he had not been successful Ranjan Ramanayake has had  to go in front of the media to explain when he had loved Nayana Kumari.

Ranjan Ramanayake had said on two instances  while acting in Tele dramas he had loved Nayana Kumari in two separate Tele dramas.They were "Ulamaga Rathriya" and "Gurugeethaya" Tele dramas.

Two schoolgirls die in railway accident in Dehiwala - Update 3

The friend of the two schoolgirls who had taken them in a vehicle to a party which move tragically ended up with the girls meeting with a train accident made a comment in the form of a note across the social media explaining about
this nasty accident.

According to his description it really was not a party of a girl of their school as such but a surprise party arranged by Imesha who was one of the victims of her boy friend. In fact Imesha and Sharon had both said a lie inviting him by saying that it was the party of one other friend with the purpose of getting the boy friend down and Imesha and Sharon had gone there with other friends too being invited. The two of them had been brought there by a friend of the boy friend by the name of Mevan who incidentally drove the vehicle. Describing the incident, Mevan had this to say:

"Imesha arranged a surprise birthday party on behalf of Shamika, her boy friend and he happens to be one of my college mates. Shamika had been asked to come there saying that it was a birthday party thrown for one of their friends called Jason. That was all. Shanika had not known that Imesha was going to come there and in the process I gave a lift to Imesha, Sharon and Shamika's younger brother by picking them up in Wellawatta, proceeding towards the restaurant. When we reached the place I on seeing Shamika coming, said 'let's avoid him'. But what they said was that Shamika is in any case aware that I was coming and that there was no problem in Shamika seeing me. They also said that whatever it is he does not know that we were going to come. So saying they said that they would get off the vehicle and proceed and asked me to come afterwards. With those words Imesha and Sharon got down from the car. What they tried to do was reach the place by going round to the place where the party was, all on the sly.

I went with the boy to park the car. At that moment my eyes fell on a train which was approaching. But I didn't know any of this. Subsequently I got off the car and started moving in the direction of the restaurant when I happened to notice about fifty persons surrounding near the railway track. I knew that somebody had got knocked down. I then asked those who were there, "Oh God is it two girls who have got knocked down?" But nobody uttered a word as such. I then shouted out once again and asked the same question when one person there replied, "Yes". I screamed with tears welling in my eyes. Shamika was walking on the other side of the road. I told Shamika to look about this scene. The way Shamika screamed I knew that it was the two of them that had got knocked down.

Even pieces of Imesha's body couldn't be found. Sharon of course had not faced that much of damage. I asked one of the people there, "I have a car ... shall we put both of them in the vehicle and take them to hospital?" Then one of the people there responded saying, "Malli ... both are finished ... there's no point!" I felt vomitish then and there but I controlled myself. Shamika vomitted on the spot. Actually it was something that can't be believed as having taken place. My father came and took me way from the scene there. I still can't fall asleep. I just can't understand what had happened there".

Before his marriage to famous actress Malini Fonseka he had refereed to many astrologers.Five very famous astrologers had quipped that the marriage would be  fine.But what happened.Hence he would not believe the astrologers for even five cents worth.

summoned to the Financial crimes investigation department on the 27th instant.She had been summoned to record more statements in regard to the investigations that were commenced almost 15 months ago into some financial irregularities complaints received.

The related officers of the FCID had questioned Shashi Weerawansa for about five hours.The attorney at law Kapila Gamage appearing for Shashi Weerawansa had accompanied her.

Individual arrested for threatening President on Facebook

A person who is supposed to have threatened President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena with death across the social website was taken into custody at Katunayaka Airport yesterday by officers of
the Criminal Investigations Department.

The individual concerned is a resident of Yakkala named Lakmana Aarachchige Sugath. Sometime back after Galagodaaththe Gnanasiri Thera of Bodu Bala Sena Organisation behaved in an aggressive manner at Homagama Courts was taken into custody on a court warrant a group of monks of Gnanasiri supporters too had behaved in an indecent  manner in front of the courts and they too were taken into custody.

The above-said incident which created an uproar in the country was subjected to much criticism by most factions in the country. Some of Gnanasara supporters believed that all this took place because of decisions taken by courts. As a consequence, allegations were directed at the President and the government across the social media.

In the process a certain individual has released a recorded video across the Facebook in which video he speaks out against the President in an insane mood. The Criminal Investigation Department after having conducted an investigation into this matter had come to understand that the suspect incidentally is not someone who is within this country. He was found to be someone who is from Yakkala and that he presently lives in Malaysia. It was further revealed at investigations that this person known as Lakmana Aarachchige Sugath is someone who stays in Malaysia without any visa. After Malaysian authorities found out about his issue concerning the visa he was expelled from Malaysia and he had arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday at Katunayaka Airport. Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department had waylaid him at Katunayaka Airport knowing about his arrival and had him taken into custody.

Since there is evidence that he had made threats against the life of President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena, the police have filed action against him and he is to be produced at the Chief Magistrate's Court in Colombo in this respect.

The new selection committee appointed headed by Sanath Jayasuriya has named a 17 member squad to tour England.

The team is captained by Angelow Mathews.Dinesh Chandimal has been named as the vice captain.The squad includes Dnanajaya Silva and Dasun Chanaka as perhaps surprise inclusions.Lahiru Thirimanna and Kaushal Silva who was dropped for the New Zealand tour have been included.

The Sri Lanka team will meet England who will play three Test matches.The squad isto leave to England on the 04th May.The squad is as follows:

Anuradhapura district Member of Parliament of the UNP Chandima Gamage had assaulted a motor garage mechanic in Kekirawa as he was unable to repair  vehicle he had undertaken to repair.


The incident had taken place on the day before yesterday the 25th instant.The vehicle belonging to the Member of Parliament Chandima Gamage had been undertaken to be repaired by the garage mechanic who owns a garage in Kekirawa at the residence of the Member of Parliament.The mechanic had explained to the MP that he is unable to repair the vehicle as a certain part cannot be prepared.

The MP had got annoyed and in front of the wife of the mechanic has beaten the mechanic with an iron rod.The 36 year old mechanic had lodged a written complaint in the Kekirawa police station.For treatment of the injuries sustained he had been admitted to the Kekirawa hospital and later transferred to the Anuradhapura hospital.

The UPFA Member of Parliament for Galle district Geetha Kumarasinghe who is also the organiser of the SLFP for the Bentara-Elpitiya electorate is likely to loose her position.It has been spoken in political circles.


The SLFP supporters have revealed that two persons are to be appointed today as the joint
organizers of the Bentara -Elpitiya seat.

The reasons for her removal had been that her close association with the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.Also she had been canvassing for SLFP supporters in the southern province to attend the illegal joint opposition May Day rally at Kirillapona.Another reason is that she has not been in the good books of the president Maihtripala Sirisena and had been accused of bringing discredit to his activirties in the tenure as the new president.

An Air Force helicopter Bell 206 type ,a trainee helicopter had crash landed today the 28th instant at around 11 am on to the Air Force air strip in Hingurakkoda.

The authorities of the Air Force are investigating in to the crash

No injuries have been reported after the crash.

Imesha Yasara's FB profile turns into mode of remembrance

The Facebook Account of Imesha Yasara Perera who was one of those who became a prey to a train at Dehiwala recently has been something that became a matter of search for most people after her
demise.

What really happens to the Facebook Account of someone who maintains it after his or her death was something that was subject to a dialogue sometime ago. While someone who is nominated by the deceased is given the ability or permission of maintaining that Account, it is observed that Yasara's Account too had been controlled by someone and this fact is seen from changes effected in it. It is said that while certain facts had been changed in it in a favourable manner to her, it has been stated above her name that this Account is in operation for the sake of her memory. Additions of new friends and transmission of messages have been blocked.

The new actress Piyumi Hansamali who she says has acted in about two unpopular tele dramas has by now been subjected to a dialogue in websites of a prominent nature because of utterly useless reasons.

The readers are sometimes perplexed as for what reasons these media sectors wish to give her publicity to matters such as for having getting married at a tender age, kissing the son's mouth and appearing in the swimming pool half naked. Sometime back the Sarasaviya newspaper
addressed her and enquired from her about this and in those circumstances what she she had given as her response are the following factors.

* First tell us about your performing activities.
  I acted in Mr. Anuruddha Jayasingha's tele drama called Modera Bambaru. The shooting of that tele drama is over. Apart from that I didn't do anything else.

* Why is there so much gossip created about you?
   I can't understand. I can't even give a kiss to my child and publish photos. That also becomes a gossip. Whatever type of photo is taken ... it automatically becomes a gossip.

* Isn't it that you take photos in a manner which breeds news?
   Not at all. I take photos in a way which depicts my own identity. I don't see anything wrong in that. But those who look at it from outside looks at it from various angles. Should I put photos by giving a kiss to the next-door neighbour's child without giving a kiss to my own child?

* Isn't that situation a problem to you?
  I am not someone who react by taking any of those things into my head. But in certain instances I am not even able to drink a glass of juice in freedom .... people surround me.

* That means, though you don't act much in dramas ... Piyumi ... you are so popular?
   Yes. Looking at it that way, I am really lucky. I have still acted in two tele dramas only. But I am more popular than other mega-drama actresses!

* To the extent that you attract comments for various other things ... why is it that you don't get comments in an equal manner about your acting?
   A lot of people don't know that I am an actress. Many of those who browse the internet don't watch T.V. So how can they make comments about my performances?

* Is it true that your son takes your newspaper articles to school?
  Aney .. yes. He likes so much about articles being published about me in newspapers. He collects those articles and shows them to the children. Then he tells me about comments made by them.

* Is your idea to remain in this field continuously?
  Expenditure in this country is too much. The money I get for my activities is certainly absolutely negligible. So I am thinking of going abroad with my son after a short time, in the future.

The two mango friends Imesha Yasara and Sharon Veronica who became a prey to a train in the most unanticipated manner recently in Dehiwala went on their last journey this evening at Borella Kanatta at the same place.

Their unexpected farewell was an incident which happened under the most tragic circumstances which put the whole nation into a shock. Below
are some photographs taken a short while before they went on their last journey amidst tears and great sorrow of their school-mates of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya.

We bless both Imesha and Sharon to Rest in Peace in the Lord's arms.

Secretary of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Ministry, Attorney at law, Nimal Bopage in a media release today said that there were reports of some media organizations and journalists engaging in what he called ‘illegal and unscrupulous use’ of media to sponsor a section of the M.Ps belonging
to one main Governing party, who call themselves the ‘Joint Opposition’.

He warned the journalists that such misuse could make them legally liable.
“The Government and the Opposition of contemporary Parliament had been clearly characterized today. In this circumstances, I have received reports that some media institutions and journalists are promoting a collective called ‘Joint Opposition’, created arbitrarily by several M.Ps without the contribution of neither the Opposition Leader nor the Chief Opposition Whip.
“Reports say the Joint Opposition is engaged in an organized political propaganda and some media aiding the promotion of it without any thoughtfulness,” Bopage said in the media release.
He said even the Speaker had pointed out the fault in the concept of Joint Opposition and said the professional integrity of the experienced, reputed and mature journalists, would be severely damaged by such media exploitation.
“Misuse of media in this manner sets bad and illegal precedent and journalists could be legally liable. Various persons would attempt to accomplish their narrow gains through misuse of media in the future. Therefore, I request journalists to follow their conscience to put an end to media misuse and to preserve thriving media freedom,” he said.
Nimal Bopage went on to note that the Good Governance Government was able to improve media freedom within a short span of time.

progress as an actress and to my beauty culture business.Foe those who make the gossip I wish they would be protected by gods.We as a family are happily  living.

I began to commence by journey in the arts field at the tender age of just 14 years.I was lucky to have got the opportunity to work under very knowledgeable  and competent directors.I have won all awards like for the best actor and popular actress and feel contented.I married the person I loved.We have a son 10 years who attends Royal College and is performing well in his studies.

During the period of the presidential election campaign the organization named "Aluth Parapura"consisting mainly of novice artistes were accompanied by senior artistes( most children of theirs were members) to the North Western province for a drama and also to canvass for the
presidential  common candidate Maithripala Sirisena.

An organized attack on the "Aluth Parapura" group and the senior artistes had been organized by the North Western province council member Kamal Indika in which some artistes of the Aluth Parapura including Samanmalee Fonseka were hurt.It had been proved that Kamal Indika was behind this attack.

However the "Aluth Paraputa" has come to know that Kamal Indika has been appointed as the organiser of the SLFP for the Hiriyala seat in the North Western province by the president Maithripala Sirisena.In this regard the members of the "Aluth Parapura" have aired their protest against the appointment of Kamal Indika as an SLFP organizer.

The Member of the United Peoples' Freedom Alliance and Member of Parliament Prasaan Ranatunga had retaliated to the comment made by the secretary to the media and mass communication that the name" joint opposition" could not be used as it is illegal.In that event the name "yaha[alanaya " also
could not be used by the government was his argument.

The Member of Parliament had said they have no intention of changing the name : joint opposition".They would only change if a court order is given in that regard.

He had added this in retaliation to the notice issued by the  secretary to the media and mass communication made to the media.
