I HAVE BEEN SENT A LOVE LETTER NO ....

Mahinda Rajapaksa made known his response last evening at two rallies held in Homagama and
Gampaha as reply to the official letter forwarded to him last evening by President Maithripala Sirisena.

On one occasion he had spoken about it in a humourous tone saying hat Maithri has sent him a 'love letter'. On another occasion what he said was, "whatever letter is sent, the public has come to a conclusion". It was confirmed by these statements that Mahinda was not ready to hand over the portfolio of Prime Minister to another at the request of Maithri. Whatever it is, a certain agitated situation has arisen among Mahinda supporters of the Alliance as a result of this letter, last evening. The reason for this agitation was that those who had made Mahinda their trump card to achieve their election victory by making Mahinda their next leader in order to set the plan for their own future existence have now realised that their hopes have been shattered in this connection.
