A three wheeler driver commits suicide as the passenger who travelled in his three wheeler had succumbed to her injuries

A three wheeler driver had taken a hire a lady
from the agricultural training centre institution at around 7.30 pm yesterday.

The three wheeler was on his way towards Anuradhapura city when overtaking a tractor going a slow pace had collided with an oncoming cab vehicle travelling in the opposite direction towards Galgamuwa.

Both the driver of the three wheeler and the lady who travelled in the three wheeler were seriously injured. Both had been admitted to the Tambuththegama hospital for treatment.

As the condition of the lady passenger was serious she had been transferred to the Anuradhapura hospital for further treatment. It was learnt that she had succumbed to death.

The three wheeler driver on hearing this had felt very disgusted had escaped from the hospital and had gone along the railway track and had jumped on to an oncoming train and committed suicide.

The cab vehicle and the driver had been taken into the custody of the Tambuththegama Police station and investigations are been carried out.
