The bodies of two young women washed away from Ramboda falls found
The two young women who's bodies were washed away after they had gone to bathe in Kotmale Ramboda water fall on the 13th
instant had been found on the 14th instant after been washed away at a distance of nearly 300 metres away from the Ramboda water fall.These two young women from Chilaw Punchi wilattuwa muhunu watawala area had commenced to go on a trip to worship Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and then to Nuwara Eliya.On the return journey when bathing at Ramboda falls this unfortunate incident had taken place.
One of the deceased is a 26 year old spinster who was to marry shortly by name Thakshila Deepani Gunapala and the other deceased a 33 year old married woman Nirmala Manel Jayaratne.
In the group there had been 11 persons and only these two women had gone to bathe with three other men. There had been warning signals displayed by the disaster management centre authorities but those who decided to bath in this area had not adhered to the warning.
The dead bodies of the two women had been taken to the Nawalapitiya hospital for the post mortem investigations on the 14th itself.
Under the supervision of Superintendent of police Nuwara Eliya police station Anton Mahendra, the Assistant Superintendent of police G.Wimaladasa, the Kotmale police is conducting further investigations.
