Private sector salaries to rise
The suggestion of the government to increase the salaries of all employees by a sum of Rs 2500/-
and to make the minimum salary at Rs 10,000/ was until recently was only a dream.The reason was that the government authorities could not interfere with the internal administrative activities of private institutions. However with the passing of two proposals in this regard in parliament the government has been able to penetrate into the activities in administration activities of private institutions.
A meeting had been held today at the labour ministry when the national labour advisory committee had met. Hence according to this committee instructions could be issued to all private institutions in this respect.

road the related road would be closed from the 8 pm on the 19th January 2016 up to 4.00am on the 20th January 2016.However as an alternate route those who travel through this road Maharagama to Dehiwala could use the Malini Bulathsinhala Mawatha to enter to Bellantara junction.
Those who wish to travel from Dehiwala to Maharagama during this time could travel through Malini Bulathsinhala Mawatha through Pitawella along the 117 bus route

A person who entered performing artiste and former member of parliament Upeksha Swarnamali's house in the night without
permission has been taken into police custody, it is reported.This incident had occured in the night of 14th, day-before-yesterday. Upeksha who suspected this person who entered the house in Homagama during night hours when darkness had fallen had subsequently phoned the police and the police who promptly visited the house had later taken him into custody. On that occasion Upeksha had checked who this person was and then she had identified that the person in fact was someone whom she had known. However she is unable to understand as for what reason the person had come there in this manner.
It was revealed at police investigations that the suspect is engaged as an Accountant at a private establishment and is a bachelor aged 35 years. This occurence in fact had taken place when Upeksha's second marriage is scheduled to take place with a businessman in another about a week's time. The arrested person is be produced in courts. Homagama Police are conducting investigations on the incident.

derived joy and satisfaction by viewing the roles they had portrayed, they appear to completely ignore them at the time they need attention in their twilight years.A group of these veteran artistes had got together and made a plea to the gods in Kataragama seeking redress for the plight they are in. In this connection this group of old actors and actresses had attended a pooja on the 17th instant at the Kataragama devale in anticipation of receiving attention .
This group had come together in a 'kavadi' dance procession from Kataragama town to the Kataragama devale and offered their pooja. Subsequently they had met the Judiciary Sanga Nayake of Ruhunu magam paththuwa, Shrasthradipathi most Venerable Kapugama Saranatissa thera to convey that as veteran artistes they are not cared by anyone.Those who attended were the Kopi Kade actress Rathna Sumanapala, singer W.Premaratna,actresses Manel Chandralatha,Kumari Dissanayake,Preethi Wijesekera,Saman Ratnayake Hettiarachchi,Kalyani Perera,Rupa Gomes and a number of other artistes.

Embiliptiya police is blasted similar to beating the deer fur coat at home-DIG Sabaragamuwa
The Deputy Inspector General of Sabaragamuwa province had quipped that the manner the Embilipitiya police is viewed for the alleged allegations is similar to a "gamarala" in a a village who
returns home and beats the fur coat of a deer at his home.This was said by the DIG Rohan Dias yesterday the 18th instant.
He had added that for any story has two sides. However in regard to the death of the youngster in Embilipitiya the media is publishing news that the police is to blame for his death. In the meantime the DIG is getting constant calls asking why so and so was transferred etc.The reply the DIG gives every one is to ask the same question from the media personnel.
The DIG Sabaragamuwa Rohan Dias had been asked by several persons to hand over this case to the criminal investigation unit. But to which he had said the investigations would be conducted according to the advise of the Magistrate and the Inspector General of Police.

A group of loyalists of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, to make an awareness of his future political path is to launch a new week end newspaper from the coming week.
The name of this weekend newspaper is 'Mulpituwa' and the editor of this newspaper is the former General Manager of the Independent Television Network Sudarman Radeliyagoda.It is also reported that the deputy editor of this proposed week end newspaper would be Gamini Jayalath who was the editor of Dinamina during the era of the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The initial financial sponsorship would be by an associate of former Minister Johnston Fernando while the sponsorship for printing would be by a businessman associate of former Minister Wimal Weeraansa.
However it is reported that the name "Mulpituwa' has surfaced a legal conflict. The reason is that all rights of the name 'Mulpituwa' belongs to the former chairman of Lake House Bandula Padmakumara who produced 'Mulpituwa' programme at the television channel 'Swarnavahini' where all headlines of newspapers were telecast.

police officers at the Embilipitiya police station are to be arrested is fake in regard to the Embilipitiya incident i was revealed by the police media spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekera.The media spokesman had issued a media notice in this connection.He had added that the interim report in regard to the death of Sumith Prasanna Jayawardena has been received at the IGP's office on the 17th instant. But there had been fake news published in several media on the 18th and 19th instants .There is no truth in those reports he had added.
However in regard to the death of Sumith Prasanna Jayawardena the full report has not been released and after which the Magistrate would reveal all details for the general public to know.

Menaka had returned to Sri Lanka secretly. Menaka Rjapaksa had said to the media that he returned as he had to complete some scenes he had undertaken in some Tele dramas.He had returned to Sri Lanka in mid December 2015 and had completed most of the shooting and hopes to go back to USA in January.
Menaka had added that owing to his studies he has only a limited time to relax. Nehara he had said render him a huge assistance. While in USA we constantly think of our fans, friends and family members He had added that at times they feel lonely. Owing to educational activities they need to sacrifice all that.
Most people do not know that he came to Sri Lanka. There is work left in another Tele drama. After obtaining the dates from the Director and the Producer would have to return to Sri Lanka again Just because he is away from Sri lanka should not neglect the work already undertaken.While in USA no one recognise him as a person hence he loves the people in Sri Lanka.
