Lorry with illicit cattle fled without stopping orders shot at by police - one killed

A lorry transporting a load of illicit cattle in
Ampara,Arantalawa area had been shot at by the police as it had fled without stopping at two police check points early this morning the 23rd instant.

When the police commenced shooting one of the persons in the lorry had died of gunshot injuries. The rest had kept him aside, untied the cattle into a jungle nearby and had also fled escaping from the police personnel.

At the check point after shooting the lorry had travelled without stopping but had travelled another 10 kilometres along the Aranthalawa road and had abandoned the lorry in a by lane.

A complaint has been lodged to the Minister of education,
provincial council, Sabaragamuwa province by the Minister of foreign employment Thalatha Athukorale.

The complaint had been lodged against a principal of a school in Sabaragamuwa area for having made some drastic comments by him against President Maithripala Sirisena when he had made during a meeting with the parents of students.

The complaint lodged had been against a Principal in a school within the Nivithigala education division. The Minister of foreign employment Thalatha Athukorale had wanted to make an impartial inquiry into the complaint made.

The other day when the President had attended the parents meeting at this particular school, the principal of this particular school had made unnecessary remarks on the education standards of the President, the Minister had added.

It is reported that high temperatures causing intense
heat in and around Karachchi city had resulted in about 450 deaths in just 03 days.

The temperature had risen to about over 45 degrees centigrade and it is reported that the entire area had been dried up.

It is also reported that the southern state Sind has also been affected similarly.Owing to the intense heat people cannot sleep inside their houses and it is a common sight to see them sleeping on roads,

On the 23rd instant, yesterday 203 garment workers both men and women working in a garment factory in housed in the industrial  zone in Avissawela had taken ill after consuming a  dish of ‘pollos’ for meals. They had been admitted to the Avissawela hospital for treatment.

Investigations had been revealed that the cause of the 203 garment workers falling ill with stomach aches and faintish feelings had been established as the ‘pollos’ dish prepared in an aluminium saucepan consumed by the workers had been kept preserved for a long length of time.

However about 200 had been discharged after treatment. Among the balance three workers one had been a pregnant worker.

Owing to the extremely intense heat in the suburbs of the Karachchi city in Pakistan the death toll has
risen to 650 during four days.

In addition people have been deprived of water for the daily use of the people as water had evaporated. This had caused tremendous hardships for living.

This was a period that people were preparing for their festival. Owing to the intense heat preparations for the festival too had been curtailed. Hence the government has declared as a national holiday today for the people in these areas.

The government has hence decided as a temporary solution the possibility of producing an artificial rainfall.

In this endeavour it has been arranged to mix sodium chloride and water and to drop them into the clouds to have artificial rains on the 26th and the 27th instants. The temperature in these areas had risen above 45 degrees centigrade it is reported.

After the incident where the dead body of a drunkard was discovered after 5 months in skeleton
form in Rajagiriya recently, another similar case is reported from an apartment from Bambalapitiya.

The dead body of a person which was in a deteriorating state has been found from an apartment in Bambalapitiya, Colombo when the neighbours sensed a foul smell emanating from the room after about 6 days. The body has been in a deteriorating state and the person concerned has been living a solitary existence on the 6th floor of Paradise Apartments in Bambalapitiya, Colombo.

46 year old Rusdi Rajiv Nool had been living alone in that house. He is a Tamil national who had acquired Australian citizenship. The police were able to find his corpse day-before-yesterday night when the people living in front of his house had sensed a foul smell emanating from his house and were informed about it by them to his relatives and the police. When checking the CCTV footage of the apartment it was seen that he had entered the house with a bottle of liquor in his possession last 16th and thereafter there had been no news of him. The police assume that he had died about 6 days before. When the dead body was found it had been in a badly decomposed state, a high police officer mentioned.

A female relative of the deceased person living in Colombo 7 had said that he had been engaged in business activities with the Share Market and after obtaining Australian citizenship he had come to Sri Lanka.

The post mortem of the dead person was conducted last afternoon in the said house and the police are conducting further inquiries.

When the bail application was made to Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage  today the 24th instant, the Magistrate by the lawyers of the accused Saliya Wickremasuriya, had allowed bail to the suspect.

However the financial director Dr Jayantha Samarasinghe who was remanded yesterday had been further remanded till the 08th of next month.

It has been reported to us that that there is a strong
possibility that the present parliament would be dissolved tonight, according to information received from political sources.

Certain matters pointing to this was received during parliamentary proceedings today. A statement expressed by the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa in this respect could be deemed vital. Anticipating a response from the Prime Minister, a question was put forward about withholding the rights and privileges due to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa under Standing Orders 23-2 according to the Constitution of the Government by leader of Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, Dinesh Gunawardena when Lakshman Kiriella stated that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha would be answering that question in the future. During the course of his opinions being expressed, MP Dinesh Gunawardena began to cause disturbance to him and and query whether the Prime Minister would be giving his reply tomorrow (25). At this point MPs and Ministers of the Government Party began making a commotion saying "where's parliament tomorrow?"

"Let's hand over answering the relevant question to the Prime Minister. If parliament is held tomorrow .... a reply will be received tomorrow". From this response from the Speaker his hint about parliament would have been dissolved by tomorrow was indicated. At that point MP Dinesh had provided his reply saying, "that of course is a secret known only to you".

A few months before this a girl working in a textile shop in the town of Wattala was stabbed
by a knife and killed by a youth supposed to have been her lover. This youth who concealed a knife in his person began stabbing the girl over and over again when those who came there to buy the clothes and sales personnel of the shop were watching all the time. The 19 year old girl, Fathima Roshana Ismi  who faced stabs on 13 points of her body died on the spot. At that moment the youth too had tried to cut his throat and put an end to his life too but he only received some injuries. Later he was admitted to hospital.

Though the two of them had started a love affair, since both parties had opposed a marriage between the two religions relating to a Muslim and Buddhist, the girl concerned had made a decision to put a stop to the affair. However, saying that he did not like his lover belonging to another, the boy had thought of killing his lover and then killing himself too in this manner.

according to the latest photograph taken from the Rover Machine sent by NASA Institute. In this connection scientists have expressed their wonder and ideas related to pyramids of Egypt and the aliens which existed over a period of time has once more come to surface as a result of this latest finding.

The abovementioned photographs of the pyramid in Mars which are supposed to have been taken on May 7th this year are said to be very much similar to the Great Pyramid of Egypt. There are  popular scientific fiction stories that many years ago people had gone to Mars in secrecy and had started building colonies there while there further fiction stories that the pyramids of Egypt was the creation of aliens.

According to the opinion of the scientists, this is not the first occasion when pyramid-like objects had been detected in Mars. Objects such as this had been seen in photographs taken in telescopic photographs captured in 1972, in photographs sent by the spacecraft Mariner 9 of 1976 and Rosetta photographs of 2014. Whether there are beings living in Mars or not has still not been confirmed so far; but Western scientists have expressed opinions to the effect that findings of pyramid-like objects has nevertheless provided new access for a dialogue in this connection.

It is reported from Abatenna area from a massage parlour that a client who had come for an ayurveda
herbal massage clinic had snatched valuable necklace of a female staff member while she was attending on him.

The client had made death threats to the female member of staff and snatched her gold necklace and while he was fleeing the neighbours had caught him and handed over to police.

It had been revealed by the police that the suspect is a resident of Mylapitiya, 47 years old and had been a person who had regularly visited the massage clinic.

On the 22nd of this month he had visited the massage clinic, had met the Manager and had requested that he be given a body massage. A female attendant had been assigned to perform his massage.

While the massage was in progress he had snatched the attendant girl’s gold chain valued at around rupees eighty thousand and run away. The victim had chased behind him screaming when the neighbours had heard had chased and caught him and handed over to the police officers who were on duty in the town.

The Katugastota police personnel had made arrangements to produce the suspect to the Kandy Magistrate.

On suspicion he had been questioned by the police who had found that this Indian priest had come to Sri Lanka to do business and had advertised in newspapers about his abilities to charm people.

The police had made investigations and had revealed that he had played out many people in Jaffna and in Colombo in this manner and had cheated huge sums of money from several persons.

He had been produced to Colombo Magistrate by the Bambalapitiya police after they had made investigations. They had found a number of obscene video photos of English and Tamil girls.

It is reported that the Sri Lanka Telecom has notified that they are making arrangements to provide Wi Fi internet facilities to
everyone island wide.

In the notice issued it has been stated that technical assistance has been sought from Rooks Wireless and Alepo Companies and that they have signed agreements.
