"I committed an offence ... but it's a small matter" -- former MP who made lady-teacher kneel down

"I committed an offence ... but it's a small matter" -- former MP who made lady-teacher kneel down

Ananda Sarath Kumara who was convicted by Puttalam High Court for having made lady-teacher Susila Gamage of Anamaduwa Navodya Vidyalaya kneel down in public having being bestowed the position of organiser of Sri Lanka Freedom Party has become a topic of discussion.

Because of this aforesaid disrepute of his, he had to even lose the elections at hand at that time. The
Teachers' Association have criticised his new appointment.

Ananda Sarath Kumara who made the school teacher kneel down where Sports Minister too participated in at the welcome celebrations had said, "It's true that I made an offence; but it was a case that had to be solved by the Samatha Mandalaya. However, I was taken into police custody and produced before court. I was made guilty to the offence after putting me into High Court and after being made an accused, I was fined. As such, I saluted the people who voted me and then resigned on my own from my position of Provincial Council membership in an honourable way.

After accepting this post of organiser I awaited 2 weeks ... leaving anybody to sling mud at me. But these people are still attacking me by following me. I did make a mistake ... I underwent punishment and now it's over. But even after that, that lady-teacher has not at least said that I have even frowned on her. I had asked for the post of organiser even from the time of Madam Bandaranaike. But even Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa whom I adore more than my life gave me this. But the way I reprimanded Mr. Maithripala Sirisena at the last elections on stage where Mr. Mahinda was present ... I never thought that he would give me this post of organiser".

"Shortage of petrol ... a sabotage of a group of people!" -- revelation from Minister Patali

The shortage of petrol by now has caused an adverse influence on public-life. Traffic right round the country has been limited and some professional activities too have come to a halt. Going to work, to school and essential activities have gone haywire as a result.

Though it is the duty of the government to look into the issue of inbound vessels and to see that
supply of oil is provided consistently, even Ministers responsible for this matter spoke about this only after 2 or 3 days after the shortage occured. Minister Arjuna too has focused attention on the suspicion that this shortage may have cropped up as an action of sabotage while a former Minister Patali of petroleum too has hinted about this. "Every day a shortage is made to occur and oil is bought at a higher price. Having gone to speak about this once I had to give up my ministership and go away", Minister Patali had said yesterday (6).

"Reason for oil brought from Indian Oil Company being of low quality, informing that the ship which was to arrive on the 3rd is not to come and also our oil refinery becoming inactive ... whether it's because of natural causes or some other matter should be looked into. Problems such as bringing oil of a sub-standard and shortage of oil have been faced before. Our refinery refines 550 tons for a day. The demand for oil in the country is two thousand tons per day. We have to pay about two thousand tons.

Our storage facilities are available for 85000, 90000 tons. It's enough for about 45 ays. When ships arrive we have to empty these to some extent. A ship arrived on October 15th. It came to be known that its quality was below standard, on the 17th. A period close upon 20 days has elapsed by now after coming to know about this. We had enough stocks oil to last 15 days. Towards beginning of November, our refinery stopped functioning. Because of that, 500 tons of oil accumulated from it, is lost. In the same way the ship which was to come on the 3rd too suddenly informed that they would not be coming. Now it's supposed to arrive on the 9th. Did it happen like this because the seas turned rough? Or else, because of some other matter? This should be looked into. Issues of this sort in the field of electricity and that of oil do not crop up for nothing. The point at the background of this ... we have studied very well".

Whatever it is, after a short while they had dispersed from there. forthcoming days.

What the Vehicle Importers' Association has indicated was that vehicles such as Toyota Axio, Aqua, Honda Vessel and Honda Grace would have a price hike of about Rs. 750,000. Toyota Pries, Nissan X Trail, and Mitsubishi Outlander would skyrocket by Rs. 10 lakhs. That Toyota Primio and Toyota Alion could increase by Rs. 2 lakhs, it is reported. Japanese serial killer who kills 9 and hides them in the house is a person who provides counselling to girls who try to commit suicide after leaving messages on social media!

An incident of a Japanese who was caught by the police is reported for having mysteriously murdered 8 females and a male towards the end of last October and had even immersed parts of their torn bodies in chemical solutions and hid them in cupboards and refrigerators in the house.

This murderer, 27 year old Thakahiro Sharaisi has been has been identified as a 'serial killer' by the social media and this incident has been strong enough to create a massive sensation within Japan's
media. Police who conducted investigations in connection with these murders came to be know that 8 out of the 9 murdered were young girls and it was revealed that all those girls were those who had left posts on the social media commenting on how disgusted they were of their life and had been thus killed this way.

He also explained that he was able to identify those who had based the Twitter social media or based it on romance or life's problems and after providing them with messages had thus shared their grievances. Subsequently, in order to provide further counselling to uplift their life, he had invited them to come over to his storeyed house in Zama area where he is living and at the moment the girls who began to shout out that they want to end their life, he would then proceed to kill them. Without removing all the dead bodies out of the house, he admitted that the bodies would be torn into pieces and deposit them at various spots within the home itself in a manner that the bodies would not disintegrate.

if I happened to meet ... I'd give an 'umma" -- Wimal Weeravansha

The first public rally in the series of public rallies organised by the United Opposition against the incumbent regime was held yesterday (12) at Anuradhapura Salgado Playground.

This public rally which was held under the leadership of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa a host of members of parliament representing the United Opposition participated on this occasion. Mr. Wimal Weeravansha expressed the following idea on that occasion: "This is the holy Anuradhapura
land. The land in which the first attack will be launched in the provincial council elections. President Mahinda Rajapaksa brought this country to a certain level ... brought the economy to a certain level ... brought political stability to a certain level. This is a country which has fallen into a level below that level which was there earlier. The international arena has been victorious. There isn't a week's stock of oil. There's not an international friend even to borrow some oil in a sudden situation either.

'Ammapaa' ... what a frail government is this. That time when there wasn't oil, 'budu amme' ... Nevaska 'Aryawa' had a better status than the President's 'Aryawa'. If I happened to meet ... I'd give an 'umma'. Distribute oil before distributing other things. That's how youth of Facebook say. Now Wickramasinghe's are getting ready to divide the constitution which could not be divided by the war. Even if one dies one after the other, this 'paragethi' traitorous government should be vanquished ... both inside and outside parliament. Outside of course it's already annihilated ... when elections come, it can be seen".

An abnormal family from Melsiripura where everyone of ages 30 - 33 keeps dying!

An abnormal family from Melsiripura where everyone of ages 30 - 33 keeps dying!

A somewhat queer piece of news is reported from Melsiripura, Panliyedda, Hewanathenna of a group of persons who aged between 30 to 33 keeps dying during that specific period.

For some special reason two generations of the same family keep dying when they reach 30 and 33 years of age and as a consequence the offspring born from them are thrown into a hopeless situation as a result and this phenomena which warrants
scientific attention.

This phenomenon was revealed recently when inquiries were made about the incident of 3 small children who were left isolated as a result of their father and mother dying from a sudden road accident sometime ago. 2 sisters have been living in this particular village and the two of them have had 3 children. Exactly when these 2 sisters were 32 and 33 years old, the two of them had passed away all of a sudden from an unidentified sickness at a time when their children were of a tender age. It is something of significance to note that husbands of the 2 sisters too had died at the ages of 32 and 33. Parents of the said family had passed away when 3 children had been of the ages of 10, 8 and 7. These 3 children of the two families were then brought up by a family who was their kith and kin. When these 3 children were adults, they had entered into marriage. They had in turn begotten 3 children each. and the son of 1 sister had just completed the 33rd year when he had died from a unanticipated road accident and his wife was thus left isolated with 3 children. The sister of the deceased person had left home with her husband to bring their children from school and had faced a road accident themselves and the two of them had died on the spot leaving their 3 small children alone in this world. In the same way their sister's daughter's husband too has died as a result of a sickness exactly on passing the age of 33 years, which is another incident worthy of notice in this series associated with this phenomenon. It is a queer twist of fate that this family too was left abandoned with 3 children. The house in which the isolated 3 children are living after the demise of their mother and father happened to go together on their last journey is in a state of decay. At the moment it is their relative 'kiriamma' who looks after them.

It was on the 13th of last month that the couple D.M. Dissanayaka (34) and H.A.S.A. Nilanika Gayani (32) had died of a sudden road accident. These 3 children, 10 year old Nilanka, 7 year old Devshi and 2 and a half year old Nethuli have thus been rendered helpless with the loss of their father and mother. The brother of deceased Nilanika Gayani who died of a road accident had lived in the wart and brittle hut which is in sight of the said house of these children. His family too had succumbed to the very same fate. Mr. Sanjeewa Prasanna Kumara (33) had died from a sudden road accident on the 4th of August in 2016. The 2 daughters Sathuni Chethana Lihini (14) and Mihindi Kumari (2 1/2) of his wife Damayanthi Aira Kumari (32) has thus been left in an utter state of helplessness.

The house where the daughter of their deceased 'loku amma' is living is only a short distance away from that house. Her husband Pushpakumara Dissanayaka had passed away from a sudden sickness on November 2nd, 2016 having completed his 32nd year. As a consequence of this incident, Roshini Pradeepika Ratnayaka (32), wife of Mr. Pushpakumara Dissanayaka has been left totally helpless with their small ones Maliga Devshini (10), Nethmal Shihiranga (7) and Nisala Dilraga (5). The 2 wives who are thus left behind are living with absolute mental pressure, being in their 32nd and 33rd years. An elder brother and a sister left in this family are now dedicated to to look after all of them, it was reported.

21 year old girl of Mirigama dies inside beauty salon!

Police investigations are underway about a 21 year old girl who had been found strangely dead within a beauty salon in Mirigama area.

At first sight it appears that she displays signs of having been electrocuted; however, police are of the
suspicion as to whether it was an incident of oversight or she has been murdered. This case of death was reported from a beauty salon situated in front of Mirigama Police Station last afternoon (13). The said girl had served at this beauty salon in the capacity of a trainee. The deceased girl, 21 year old Dinesha Chathurangani was a resident of Kithalawalana area in Mirigama, it was later revealed.

It was the owner of that beauty salon in that building who had first seen the said girl dead in this manner. It is understood that the other girl serving there had not been present in service at the moment when this death had occured and only the deceased had been present. The initial suspicion was that the girl had been electrocuted because there was a hair-dryer and an electric plug point at the spot where the girl was found dead and water was found scattered around the place. The corpse is lying at Wathupitiwala Hospital after the magisterial examination and the post mortem is expected to be conducted today (14).

President Maithripala Sirisena has accused Nestle Company for marketing Milo which is a chocolate-mixed drink as comprising an excess content of sugar in it and for not even displaying
the sugar values on the pack.

The President remarked that he came to know that there was 15 percent sugar content in this product even at the time he was the Health Minister and that it is now over 16.5  and though sugar has been quoted in the contents of ingredients found inside the carton, he pointed out that sugar has been eliminated from the percentage stated in the ingredients. Reason for couple to hang themselves on the beam 1 week after marriage ... supposed to be a case of having married earlier being revealed!

A shocking incident where a couple who had got married just a week ago had hanged themselves on a beam and had thus committed suicide is reported from Milleniya area.

A couple named Kosala Sachin (28) and Kosali Maheshika (19) had died in this manner and these deaths was the outcome of the revelation that Kosala had been married earlier; that he even has a
child by that marriage and after entering into a new marriage, information that he had been paying maintenance to his former family as well as all particulars about him were revealed which ultimately had culminated in a problematic situation, it was reported.

Having seen mobile phone photos which gave evidence of Kosali keeping intimate relationships with a van driver, her father had gone into a rage and on the night of last 12th he had scolded the daughter and even dealt her some blows. However he had not known that she has already got married to this driver concerned, it was reported.

After this incident of assault she has lost her temper and after getting down her husband, had fled from the house. Later the father of the girl has lodged a complaint with the police. Just a day after the new couple had begun to live together she had come to know some information regarding her partner. It was that her husband was already a married man, that he has a child and that he had entered into this marriage having detached himself from that marriage and was also paying maintenance.

Kosali was thus not in a position to return home by leaving him and it is suspected that the couple had made a decision to bid goodbye to their life. Friends of Kosala have seen both of them hanging from a beam in his house and have notified Millaniya Police. A police officer said that the dead bodies of the couple had been found hanging at either end of the hall of the house dangling from a beam of about 12 feet in length tied to the beam with a 'thangus' right in its middle with a gap of 3 feet apart. Whatever it is, the police informed that there was no letter or anything for that matter left behind to give reason for their act and that they were able to find some information from evidence supplied by friends, as stated before.

Kidz World owner committed suicide because of being pressed by debts? or domestic problems?

The person who committed suicide day-before-yesterday (13) in a house in Malabe, Athurugiriya by hanging on a hook of an electric fan was a millionaire businessman by the name of Ranga Sanjeewa Hettiappuhamy (38), it has been identified.

He was the owner of the popular chain of shops known as Kidz World for selling baby products in
many a city in Sri Lanka. The incident of committing suicide in this manner has become a matter of great surprise to both members of his family as well as employees at his establishment. He had been living alone in the house where he had committed suicide while his wife and only child had been living in a separate house in Talahena area.

Deceased Ranga had been living in both houses alternately. The police have uncovered information that he has had some problems connected to his family and it is a point of interest to note that even this place where he was residing was unknown to his wife until his death. She has explained to the police saying that she is surprised about this death and that she suspects as to with whom the deceased had lived with in that house.

Deceased Ranga had utilised a hook used for the electric fan in a room of that house. He had removed the electric fan in that room and after keeping it aside on the floor had then hanged himself from a rope tied to that hook. It was the house owners who rented out the house to him who actually had first come to know about his death. When the house owner together with members of his family had come over to collect the rent of the house which was at Kahanthota Road, Alubowaththa in Athurugiriya day-before-yesterday (13) night, he had found that the doors were locked up, which then had aroused his suspicion. Later after opening up the locks he had seen this businessman had hanged himself and died after removing the electric fan of a room and having laid it down on the floor had then tied a rope to its base. It was also reported that he had left a letter behind to the effect that he unable to bear the debts he was burdened with, it was reported.

The deceased businessman was the owner of several trading concerns supplying baby products. He had rented out this house at a rent of Rs. 75000 for a period of 3 months and had been living all alone there. It is still not clear whether he had felt that he could no longer stay in that house on the date when the 3 months elapses and not being able to go to the house of his wife and thus committed suicide in this manner or whether he did so for some other reason. The police expect to interrogate his wife who says that she was not aware that her husband had secured a house like this until his death.

The army commander announced  over national television that President Robert Mugabe who remained in power from 1980 onwards for a period of 37 years by bestowing utmost pressure on the public is presently in safe custody. President Jacob Zuma of the adjoining country has stated that President Mugabe is under house arrest.

President Zuma has given a telephone call to Zimbabwe President Mugabe in the morning. "President
Mugabe is not in a position to go out from the house. He is cordoned inside the house. Whatever it is he is all right", it is stated in South African government press release. Jacob Zuma has announced that he would be taking measures to send a special team of representatives to discuss matters concerning the crisis that has cropped up. The deputy President of Zimbabwe, Emerson Minangwa is behind the activity of Zimbabwe army taking power into their hands, foreign news report. He was expelled from power by Mugabe a short period before this as a result of a battle for power. It is understood that later he had twisted the army towards his opinion and had thus crushed Mugabe's administration.

On a day last month, Grace the wife of President Mugabe had made an accusation that deputy President Emerson was involved in the process of launching a coup and since deputy President Emerson was ousted from that position, is reported as showing signs of political revolution of being appointed as ruler of that country instead of Robert Mugabe and she is an aged woman of 93 years. Whatever it is, the army all of a sudden had turned the the opposite and had said that if the offenders are to be punished, the government has to be toppled.

Making an announcement across the state television, major general Siuziso Meyo of the supplies division of Zimbabwe army has mentioned that an operation was launched of implementing law against the offenders and that the President is in safe hands. He had also notified the Zimbabwe army that this in no way is a coup of the army. The army which has taken government institutions of Zimbabwe into their hands has mentioned that this was not an army coup and that this was an operation launched for the purpose of meting out punishment for offenders rallying round the President. It was reported that state institutions, the parliament and courts situated in Central Harare are full of armoured vehicles and soldiers at its access points.

The major general has said, "We'd take the people engaging in criminal activities rocking around the President. After our operations is over, we expect everything to come back to normal", he had further added. No news has been reported so far in the media of that country either about Zimbabwe's President Mugabe or the President's wife Grace who in fact is in anticipation of coming into power after him.

Mess for another lady teacher of Navagaththegama --
Teacher who asked "are you scared of me?" tries to get her under his wings!

The incident of a lady teacher of Navagaththegama being made to kneel down sometime ago was something that created a sensation in the country. On that occasion the said teacher was harassed by a politician. In the story that follows it is of an incident where a male teacher of the same school who had tried to molest a lady teacher which has
now created an uproar.

Some weeks ago on a rainy day a 29 year old unmarried lady teacher had remained back in the teachers' resting room after school was over because of the inconvenience to go out. At that particular time there had been several male and female teachers there. However as time progressed, when rain began to cease gradually, some teachers had begun to leave and in the end it was this particular lady teacher and this male teacher who were remaining there.

The male teacher who happened to be a father of one child naturally had cordial relations with this lady teacher and therefore she has had no suspicion about him. Anyhow when she was getting ready to move away from the resting room, this male teacher had blocked her path. She had then cast a look of surprise at him when he had asked her "are you scared of me?" when she had replied saying "why should I be scared of you ... are you a devil?"  No sooner she said this he had closed her mouth with his hands and and had dragged her towards a corner of the room and tried to molest her.

In fact he had started feeling her all over her body and even gone to the extent of removing her sari and jacket. At that moment though she had tried to shout out he had prevented her from doing so and because of the sound of the patter of rain her shouts had not been audible to other rooms, which then  was the complaint she had made to the police. In any case she had managed to release herself from his grips with difficulty and dart away from the place, she had told the police.

After this incident was notified to Anamaduwa Education Division by the police, the 2 teachers were transferred to 2 other schools and a separate inquiry is underway, it is reported.

How Mohamed Saheer Zuhair became Rajagiriye Chandakiththi

The moment we hear the name Aranayaka Samasara Kanda what comes to our mind is the hill which was involved in the landslide which incident preyed on a number of lives. However, what we are about to hear now is a different type of story about this same Samasara Kanda. It is an incident which erects a fence to national unity that
is seen eroding these days.

Last 3rd most people gathered at Moragammana Sheera Mayurapaada Vihara in Aranayaka (which lays at the foot of Samasara Kanda) for the purpose of participating in the pinkama of admitting a child to the sasana. But that pinkama carried a uniqueness unlike on any other day. It was that on that particular day it was a Muslim child who entered the sasana with sounds of "Sadu ... sadu!" heard right round. In this instance it was a 10  year old child of Muslim nationality by the name of Mohamed Sameer Zuhair living in Madinnagoda, Rajagiriya. Mohamed Sameer Zuhair thus became a monk under the name Rajagiriye Chandakiththi.

Mohamed Sameer was the youngest in a family of 2 children and he also had an elder brother. Parents of Mohamed Sameer were Mohamed Zueer Bizamdeen and Chitra Seemani Oliver and Sameer was born at Borella Castle Lady Ridgeway Hospital on 12th April, 2007. Sameer's father was of Islamic faith while the mother was a Sinhala lady. The two of them who lived in Arunalu Uyana, Arunodaya Mawatha in Obeysekerapura, Rajagiriya were the parents of 2 boys. Sameer the youngest in the family had been living with his father and mother. On 2th March, 2013 he was admitted to V/Giriulla/Nalawalana Junior College. He had his education there in the Sinhala medium. When undergoing studies in that school for a period of about 1 year Sameer had to put a full stop to his schooling on 11th February 2014 when his mother and father came to reside in a different area.

However it was pathetic to the mother that it was the very place where their sons started their education became the spot which was subjected to the landslide. Her thoughts began to run hither and thither and ultimately she went to meet a thera at a temple in Nawala area and asked his help to provide an environment conducive to his studies. As a result of her plea Sameera got the opportunity to remain at the temple on that very occasion. Having made Sameera remain in the temple, his mother thus came home. Sameera who remained in the temple for about a week afterwards came in search of his mother saying that he does not want to remain there in that temple. It was during this period that Chitra Seemani who was adamant in teaching her son meets Thera Jamburewela Chandraratna and that was at a vihara in Colombo. On that occasion she unravels all particulars concerning her son, to Chandraratna Thera. The thera gives ear to everything she says most calmly and suggests to her to have her son enter the sasana. Chitra Seemani gives her consent to Chandraratna Thera's suggestion instantly but she is not in a position to give an immediate reply to it because she does not know what her husband, the child's father would respond in this connection. But Nizamdeen too does not give a negative response either. Accordingly, the parents then volunteer to have their 10 year old son handed over to the sasana.

Thus, Chandraratna Thera accompanies small Sameera from Colombo to meet his mentor Thera Puwakmote Dhammaratana at Shree Mayurapada Rajamaha Vihara in Moragammana, Aranayaka. The Moragammana Shree Mayurapaada Rajamaha Vihara is the location which is situated near the small stream at the foot of Aranayaka Samasara Kanda which is the historic location where Buddhaputra Nayaka Thera who authored Poojavaliya happened to reside. It is Kegalla Siyambalapitiya Ashokaramadhipathi Pujya Shastravedi Dhammarama Thera who now functions as the chief incumbent of this vihara which comprises of a monastery erected on pillars and a Buddha shrine room.

On his instructions and guidance, preparations were made for Sameer to enter the sasana. A few days before last Il Poya, 3 children including Sameer were ordained in a celebrated manner. It was the ordination of Islamic national Mohamed Sameer's ordination which caught the eye of most people at this religious ceremony. The small samanera who entered the sasana under the name Rajagiriye Chandakiththi as a disciple of Puwakmote Dhammarathana Thera presently receives his education at Polambegoda Shri Sudarshanarama Pirivena.

The couple Mohamed Zuhair Nizamdeen and Chitra Seemani Oliver who bestowed their son to the sasana had this to say regarding it: "We don't have a stable job as such. There's not even a house to call our own. We live on rent here and there. For a short period of time we were at an estate at Negombo Makandura. Eldest son of course is at husband's elder sister's house. The younger son was with us. We suffered a lot not being able to put him into a school. It was during such circumstances that we met Chandraratna Thera. It's a great happiness to see our son as a bhikku today because of that thera. We also have trust that son will some day come to a good level".

We came across Viharadhikari Puwakmote Dhammarathana Thera of Shree Mayurapaada Rajamaha Vihara too who paved this special opportunity. What he told us was that he who is dedicated for progress of the sasana as a Buddha-son has no discrimination of race, religion, caste. "From whatever race or region he comes from ... if he embraces the Buddha dhamma; it's our duty to impart about knowledge of the dhamma. There's no big difference in this village where Sinhala and Muslim people live in co-operation for having ordained a child of Islamic faith. From those days itself everyone in this village lived with the temple. I ordained 3 children with this Islamic child. These 4 samaneras Chandananda, Chandiwimala, Dhammadassi and Chandakiththi must be given a good education. I look forward to ordain several other children in the future.
