New gazette notification on Ministries and its functions

Gazette notification which changed ....   the so far existing Ministries


The gazette notification was released detailing the subject purview of the Ministries under the  According to this gazette duties subjected to certain Ministries and institutes have come under changes. 

As such, 20 institutes including the Sri Lanka Central Bank, the Sri Lanka Exchange and Securities Commission and the National Youth Services Commission would come under the purview of Prime Minister Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha who presently holds the portfolio of the National Policy and Economic Affairs Ministry. The Civil Aviation, Airport and Aviation Limited would come under the purview of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Siripala de Silva. The Police Department, Dangerous Drugs Control Board and the Prisons Department belongs to Mr. Tilak Marapana, Minister of Law and Order and Prisons Reforms. The Treasury, the Customs, the Excise Department, the Inland Revenue Department, the Sri Lanka Insurance Board, the National Lotteries Board, the Development Lotteries Board and the National Finance Board, all consisting of 26 institutes as well come under the purview of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ravi Karunanayaka. Mr. Kabir Hashim, Minister of Public Enterprise Development would be in charge of 19 institutes including all State banks, Sri Lankan and Mihin Lanka and the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation. Institutes such as the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Department of Registration of Persons the National Museum Department belong to Mr. S.B. Nawinna, Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs. The Urban Development Authority, the National Physical Planning Department etcetera have been given in charge of Minister of Mega Police and Western Development, Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka. 10 institutes including the National Animal Husbandry, the Health Department and affiliated Companies and the Paddy Marketing Board has been handed over to Mr. P. Harrison, Minister of Rural Economy. The Central Cultural Fund would come under the purview of the Minister of Education, Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
