Sri Lanka's first electric aerial bridge opened in Panadura sans fanfare
In Panadura town the Sri Lanka's first aerial bridge with electric staircase has been opened to public. It has been established for the benefit of the pedestrians. The length of the electric bridge is 45 meters in length and four metres in breadth.
The expenses had been funded by the world bank and it had cost about rupees 17 billion..This electric bridge had been made under the supervision of the road development authority. A special feature of the aerial electric bridge is that a portion has been exclusively reserved for the use of disabled and the elderly citizens.
It had been told that this bridge would be ceremonially opened in the year 2014.However without the knowledge of anyone this bridge had been opened for the convenience of the people.
