International schoolgirl who watched Facebook from 10 phones ....

in conflict with parents for looking at nude photos and goes to police

The behavioural patterns of schoolboys and schoolgirls these days have taken a drastic change because of the Facebook. They have been noted as a lot who have become unfamiliar to the society and even does not honour their parents.

A female student of 16 years from an international school in Wellawatta had been exchanging nude photos with friends across the Facebook and as a result has got a battering from her parents. The girl who became angry with the parents over this incident had then gone to Wellawatta Police and lodged a complaint saying that she was beaten by her parents. As such the parents who were a millionaire couple were taken into custody and produced before Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court.

What they said there was that their daughter was seriously addicted to the use of the internet and the Facebook and had even neglected her studies for this reason. The parents had further mentioned that in order to set her behavioural pattern back into normal she had been made to stay at her grandfather's house close to her house and had thought that her behaviour would change and she would be freed from the internet browsing habit. However, when checking after a few days she was noticed to be browsing the internet on the sly and had gone back to her old way of living. On investigating further it was fund that there were parts of blue films and a large number of nude photos in her mobile phone and that those had been exchanged across the Facebook with the aid of friends. On coming to know of this situation and had realised that the daughter had gone astray, they had lost their temper and had begun to beat her incessantly. Whatever it is, this schoolgirl had protested saying that she had not made a mistake for her to be beaten up and had subsequently run away from home and gone to Wellawatta Police Station to make a complaint against them.

The police reported that she was in possession of 10 mobile phones utilised by her to log into the internet.

The Additional Magistrate Praharsha Ranasingha ordered that a medical report be taken about her mental condition and to hand her back to her grandfather once more. The parents were released on two personal bonds of Rs. one lakh and further inquiry is expected to be held on the 30th of this month.
