Three Police officers who had proceeded on Election duties in a jeep topples and three admitted to hospital
A jeep carrying police officers who were on their way for election duties had toppled and three of
them had been admitted to hospital.The accident had occurred along the Welimada, Boralanda area close to the Hapugahawatte tea factory.
Those who had been injured have been the Chief Inspector of Police Training school in Kalutara Anura Priyantha,Police Training school Police sergeant (9480) Jayakody and Police constable of the Diyatalawa Police (93331) Sumanapala are those who had been hurt and admitted to the Diyatalawa hospital.
It is reported that Chief Inspector of the Police training school Kalutara Anura Priyantha had been discharged while the other two injured Police Sergeant and Police constable are still in the hospital.
It is learnt that on the instructions of the senior superintendent of Police Ramawickrema of Bandarawela Police area Haritha Halwila and the Police Inspector of the traffic police of the Diyatalawa police have been instructed to conduct investigations.
