Jeering to Nandamithra at Naula prevents him from speaking
It is reliably reported that as a result of jeering by
those who had come to the Naula grounds to listen to the speakers at the propaganda meeting of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance, the UPFA candidate for the forthcoming general election former Minister and Member of Parliament Nandamithra Ekanayake had not been allowed to make his speech.Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had attempted to make the audience calm but once he commenced to speak again the jeering had started. Nandamithra Ekanayake had started to speak making a plea to the audience. It is reported that the former Minister who joined with the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena had stopped speaking after just five minutes.
The reason for the people to jeer and protest was ascertained as he had come on to the stage along with the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa whom he had opposed and made his opponent Maithripala Sirisena to triumph in the past presidential election.
