It is understood that the hamlet of Thambuththegama has become uneasy because of a mysterious family who is supposed to be moving around in this hamlet known as Rajapakshagama in Thambuththegama.
It is reported that a female, a man and a small child keeps appearing to inhabitants of the hamlet and that after a short while disappear. It is learned that there is a host of villagers who had seen these three mysterious people both during daytime as well as in the night. They have even had rituals performed in their homes as a result of this shock. However, because these 3 mysterious beings are continuing to wander about in the area, the villagers have been struck with fear while some families have even abandoned the village. This is what Mrs. Indrawathi living in Rajapakshagama has to say about this: "Recently in broad daylight I went to the paddy field to divert the water-flow. All of a sudden a woman, a man and a small child surfaced from the middle of the 'wel yaya'. After two or three seconds the three of them vanished. Though I looked around, they were nowhere to be found".
Indrawathi who does not eat any fish or meat and even does not have faith in ghosts and apparitions and goes to divert water to the paddy field even at midnight has now turned sick. She also shows how both her feet has become wounded as a result of some scrapes from fingernails for no reason at all.
Mr. Ashoka Dharmakirthi, Grama Niladhari in charge of Thulana has told the media that the villagers have taken action to bring exorcists to a 'wel yaya' in Rajapakshagama where these paranormal phenomena is supposed to be taking place and thus have a ritual performed.
It is also reported that as strange happenings occur in this area, villagers confine themselves to their homes in the evening hours with great fear.
