Strike begins -- crowds at Lanka petrol shed outlets
As a result of the strike launched by 6 Petroleum Trade Union Collective from last night vehicles have queued up near fuel stations, it is reported. There is a risk that fuel stocks would be over and its distribution would stop by today 24th or 25th tomorrow.

Trade Union Associations making 3 demands including the protest against handing over oil tanks of Trincomalee Port to India. Petroleum Minister Mr. Chandima Weerakkody said that it is arranged to attend a discussion with leaders of the trade union this morning (24). Whatever it is, Indian Oil Company says that this problem does not concern them and that they would distribute fuel as usual. They cover about 18 percent of fuel requirements of this country.
