Cook on his way to attend to cook for Avurudu festival ... dies in Godagama van - mini cooper collision
An incident has occured yesterday along Avissawella - Homagama route at Godagama Junction when a van and a small-sized mini cooper collided face to face.
A cook and 2 other persons were travelling in the said mini cooper and the accident had happened when the cook was being escorted to undertake a cooking assignment for an Avurudu festival. It is
understood that at the moment of the accident the mini cooper had been travelling on the wrong lane on the right side. The van driver who faced injuries gave evidence in this connection and said that it was not possible to control the vehicle when the van which was travelling at a high speed ultimately collided head on.The cook succumbed to his injuries from this accident which took place early last morning while 2 other persons sustained injuries. The deceased cook Ananda Dinesh Kumara was a married person aged 32 years and was a cook residing in Watareka, Padukka. One of the persons who faced injuries was admitted to Colombo National Hospital and is in a serious condition, it is reported.
