15 in remand and 6 in hospital because of Ananda -- Nalanda and D.S. D.S. clash!
Groups of students of Colombo Ananda and Nalanda Colleges who were in the process of going back home in buses after schooling this afternoon (15) had got involved in a clash between the two schools and had engaged in a brawl as a result of a personal grudge, it was reported.
In this case the clash has gone beyond limits, having stopped the 138 (Homagama) and 120
(Kesbewa) buses, creating damage to the vehicles. As a result, 3 individuals had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital with injuries. 2 students from Ananda College and 1 student from Nalanda College were thus hospitalised in this connection. The said clash had taken place with a large number of people bearing witness to the scene.Apart from this incident, another clash has occured between two factions of prefects of Colombo D.S. Senanayaka College within school premises itself relating to some matter concerning discipline. 3 students who sustained injuries have been admitted to the Colombo General Hospital. Borella Police after recording statements about the incidents have apprehended 15 students, it is reported.
