Ambulance driver's statement about shooting incident of SAITM Chief Executive, contradictory

Mulleryawa Police who rushed to the scene of the incident under reference had recorded a statement from the driver of the ambulance concerned and in relation to the information provided by him and the statement secured from Dr. Sameera Senaratna, there is a contradiction, police have noted. A police officer has stated that from the fact that the doctor not even sustaining a single injury from the shooting has created a suspicion. Mulleriyawa Police has further informed that further investigations are underway to ascertain whether the shooting incident had been carried out in a strategically planned manner under the influence of a second party or else whether it really take place. The Mulleriyawa Police have further mentioned that in case it is confirmed that the shooting was executed with the motive of leading the police astray; legal action would have to be taken in courts in that case.
In the meantime the leader of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Member of Parliament Anura Kumara Dissanayaka has compelled the government that a wide-scaled inquiry be launched in this connection with immediate effect. Failure to conduct such an investigation would lead to an unbiased suspicion to crop up that an unseen hand of the government is in operation behind this, he further added. He has also pointed out that certain Ministers of the incumbent regime too have sounded a warning note with reference to the incident under discussion. He also says that no comments being issued by the President nor the Prime Minister about this SAITM matter has led to an uproar contributing towards furthering the suspicion.
In the process MP Mr. Vasudeva Nanayakkara of the United Opposition Party has remarked that it is understood that this act of shooting was something that has been effected on a pre-planned basis. He pointed out that this incident has turned out as a warning signal not only to him but to the whole country as well. In the process, a sensitive scene depicting Dr. Sameera expressing his joy for having saved his life and Dr. Neville hugging him in the presence of the media at a news briefing held yesterday also came into focus.
