From hospital, school canteens instant drinks banned
The director general of health services Consultant Physician Palitha Maheepala had advised all directors of hospitals not to market instant soft drinks from the hospital canteens,
It is reported that a circular is to bee issued instructing to remove all such instant soft drinks fro all school canteens,government canteens.
The other day on the 21st instant the director general of health services has had a discussion with
hospital directors these instructions were conveyed. It is said that the instant drinks sold in markets have a high content of sugar.Hence they should be removed forthwith from hospital canteens was what the director general had ordered.This was conveyed to all directors of hospitals for implementation.
