Proceedings of courts cases to be recorded and computerized
It is reported that the authorities of the ministry of Justice are contemplating recording all case proceedings centering 33 Magistrates and district courts in surrounding the Colombo High court area.
It has been added by the secretary of the ministry of Justice Padmasiri Jaymanne that all cases that been examined would be recorded live initially with evidence and verdicts..
It is reported that on the same day the recorded proceedings of the case would be handed over in print
form to the related plaintiffs and defendantsThe software for this project would be provided by the authorities of the Judiciary services commission and would handed over to 10 magistrates courts and 10 district magistrates courts in the Colombo High court area.
It has been added by the secretary that on the success of the project this would be expanded to other areas of the country gradually.
This proposed project is to be implemented during the first quarter of next year.This would be monitored by a committee comprising of the chairman,secretary of the judiciary services commission.This was added by the secretary of the judiciary services commission.
In the meantime the officials of the judiciary services commission has formulated new instructions to all Magistrates the manner to expedite the courts cases which are been examined.
The secretary of the ministry of justice has added that this procedure would commence from the month of November.He is expecting a huge progress in this case by mid next year.
