Prices of seven essential goods reduced
From the budget proposals that were announced to day by the Minister of Finance prices of seven essential consumption foods have been reduced.They are:
Green Gram a Kilo by Rs 15/-
Dhal a kilo by Rs 10/-
Potatoes a kilo by Rs 5/-
Sprats a kilo by Rs 5/-
White sugar a kilo by Rs 2/-
Domestic gas cylinder by Rs 25/-
A litre of Kerosene oil by Rs 5/-
The prices of essential drugs have been reduced by 40%..
For all these there is no VAT
The maximum selling price for local milk powder 400 gm is Rs 250 /-
The maximum selling price for local tinned fish 425 gm is Rs 125/-
