Medal for Sri Lanka at Paralympics 2016
Sri Lanka was able to win the first medal in the Rio Paralympics 2016 in the Javelin throw event by athlete Dinesh Priyantha Herath.
In the final of the men's F 46 team Dinesh
Priyantha Herath was able to secure the bronze medal. For this even in the final of the F 46 group 13 participants had taken part. Among them Dinesh Priyantha Herath was able to secure the bronze medal.The distance covered by him was 58.23 metres.In this event the gold medal was won by an Indian athlete Devandra who won with new Paralympic record.The silver medal was won by the Chinese athlete Chung Liyang.
