Dilshan in his farewell match 3 balls one run, Sri Lanka loses again
In the second and final T/20 international between the touring Australians and Sri Lanka,the Aussies triumphed again by four wickets with over two overs to spare in the match played under lights before
a capacity crowd at the R.Premadasa International cricket stadium in Colombo.Sri Lanka won the toss once again and decided to bat first.The batsman struggled against the four prone pace attack of Mitchell Starc, James Faulkhner, John Hastings , Moises Henriques and the spin of Adam Zampa. Sri Lanka could amass only 128 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Dananjaya De Silva who came in at No 3 held the batting on his shoulders to score 62 valuable runs. Kusal Perera who opened scores 22 runs and these two were the only batsmen who entered double figures.
Tillekeratne Dilshan who was playing in this farewell match could score only 01 run and could face only three balls. But when Australia were batting he captured two wickets in two overs as the match ended in a thrilling finish with Australia who were given a good start struggled at the death overs to reach the target in 17.5 overs for the loss of six wickets.
For the Aussies Glen Maxwell top scored again with a hurricane 66 runs He was bowled off an edge by spinner Seekkuge Prasanna..The visiting Australia won the series 2-0. Glex Maxwell was once more named the "Man of the Match.He was also adjudicated as the "Man of the Series" as well.
