15 year old daughter's lover emerges from under the bed in the room!
A complaint lodged at Weeraketiya Police Station about a daughter who was accustomed to inviting a lover to the house secretly and had been spending the night with him at a time her mother, younger brothers and sisters were inside the house was reported recently.
As reported, the incident is as follows: The said girl was 15 years of age. Her lover was a 20 year old
boy. The girl studying at a school in Weeraketiya area had initially met him during the time she had been on her way to a tuition class in Walasmulla. The boy incidentally was a youth who was attending a tuition class himself with the hope of sitting for his second shy at the Advanced Level and he happened to be a resident of Walasmulla.The love affair between the two of them had blossomed for quite some time. This girl who was the social type who used to invite and introduce male friends known to her to members of her house and this lover of hers too had been introduced to her home-people as a friend of hers. He had come on two or three occasions on holidays saying that he had come to 'ask notes from her' and the home-people entertained no suspicion about him. The father in this family was a busy person and would frequently be away from home on duties. His daughter under reference here had a 7 year old brother and an infant aged just 10 months. For that reason because of activities of the small children the mother was a busy person herself. It was quite some time since this elder daughter had been used to roaming about according to her whims and fancies with her lover on the pretext of going for tuition. The necessity to meet each other more frequently became inevitable and as a result the girl had suggested that "why should we meet outside ... you come to my room ... there's no one to look about me".
The boy consented to her proposal and in order to experience the curiosity of creeping into the room and thus enjoying the 'taste' simultaneously overcame him and because his attempt turned out well on two and three days he had made it a habit to do so frequently. The boy who would creep into the room in the night hours would spend his time with his lover as husband and wife and would scoot away from the room in the hours of the dawn before the others would awake.
In the meantime some days before, the girl's father had attended a wedding in the night and during that period the boy had given a call to his lover and tried to enter the house as usual. What she had then told him was, "today of course father will get late ... you come from the door straight ... not from the window. I'll wait till mother moves away and I'll take you in". As said, the lover had reported for his 'duty' that day too and he was able to go inside the house without any fear and then creep into the room. In the meantime the wedding referred to earlier had come to a close towards midnight and when the father was approaching home he had noticed something near the door and had been vigilant over it. In fact he began to develop a suspicion about the owner of the two big rose-coloured slippers lying near the door.
On entering the house,having seen that everyone had gone to sleep he had stealthily gone towards his wife and had spoken to her and had inquired from her "when did you buy that new pair of slippers?" Because the wife had then responded saying that she is not aware of such a pair of slippers, his suspicion developed further. What he then thought was that a thief had entered the house. He then had immediately got down to the job of inspecting the house had wanted to tap at her room-door and inform her elder daughter about his suspicion. On hearing the tap on the door the girl's lover who not being able to think of an alternative had tried to creep under the bed there. Because of this abrupt situation a delay had occured to open the door. As the door was not opened quickly as expected, the father's suspicion aggravated further. He then had shouted curiously, "open the door ... why this delay?" Later the daughter had opened the door and had stepped aside giving the impression that something fishy had got caught to him and when he inquired the reason and on inspecting all over the room he was able to see where the thief had hid himself. As such when he set his eyes under the bed, the 'thief' was caught red-handed. The father had grasped the 'thief' by the neck and had taken him to the hall and on switching on the light he had realised that it was not an unknown thief at all but a friend of his daughter's and had understood what had actually happened. The embarassed daughter had tried to hide her face and go into hiding. It was after that this father had taken steps to hand the couple over to the Weeraketiya Police saying that the lover of his daughter the latter of whom was a minor had been nabbed red-handed while hiding under the bed in the daughter's room.
On interrogation by the police the lovers had admitted that they had spent the time as husband and wife that day too. The minor was admitted to Weeraketiya Hospital and she is expected to be sent to Hambantota Hospital for a medical examination and for the medical report. The suspect-lover is to be produced before Walasmulla District Magistrate Court. Walasmulla Police are conducting enquiries over the incident.
