Sri Lanka flag removed from Lord's balcony

The International media announces the incident of Sri Lankan players displaying the local flag for a period of about 45 minutes from the dressing-room as a protest against a decision given during the process of a cricket match played in Lords these days between the Sri
Lankan team and the English team. The Daily Mail newspaper published in England said in this connection that this protest which displayed a sign of anger of the Sri Lanka team was dispelled with the mediation of the MCC.

The incident which in fact the root cause for this was the action taken by umpire Alex Hales to signify the ball bowled by Nuwan Pradeep as a no ball when in fact the ball had directly struck the wicket and thus a wicket has gone a begging in the process. When watching the replay it is clearly observed that it was not a no ball and that the umpire concerned had not taken any steps to rectify his decision even by then. Whatever it is, at the end of the game the said umpire had accepted that he was responsible for the mistake, it was reported.

The Daily Mail news service says that the MCC had requested that the Sri Lankan flag which was displayed on the dressing-room where the Sri Lankan players were resting to show their protest against the umpire's decision be removed. While the local flag was so displayed in the dressing-room by the Sri Lankan team in order to protest against a decision of the umpire was something not usual, it actually was an act that was subjected to discussion among others. Later the MCC made a request that the flag be removed.

It was understood that this was the second debatable issue that figured in a judgment of the umpires in this game. The Sri Lankan team had thus displayed the local flag for about 45 minutes and they had even gone to the extent of complaining to the ICC about this incorrect judgment executed in the match.
