Magistrate Thilina Gamage has fled underground
State council Dileepa Peiris had added at the Nugegoda Magistrate courts yesterday when the case against former additional magistrate Thilina Gamage’s case against having kept in his possession a baby elephant without a valid permit from the related wild life department was taken up that the accused had been missing from
his residence and is not at any other place where he should normally be.The state council Dileepa Peiris had said that the officers of the criminal investigations unit had not acted in this instance the way they usually act in case of such accused persons.
The attorney at law Ajith Pathirana appearing for Thilina Gamage the court authorities are contemplating on the decision whether he is to be taken into custody or not. In this connection a decision would be notified within the next two days.
The additional magistrate Kanishka Wijeratna at the Nugegoda Magistrate courts was to conduct this case and it had been informed by him that if there is any objection to it to inform him. He had commenced to call up the case as there were no objections raised by both factions.
