SL Army operations in Aranayaka - Updates
A number of Army soldiers and certain officers who were engaged in searching for those who were missing and directing those who had become victims of the Aranayaka landslide to places of safety have been subjected to sudden illness, it was reported.
What Director General, Major General Mr. L.M.R. Mark says is that he suspects that this condition of sickness may have occured as a result of inhaling infections from the dead bodies and the environmental
factors prevalent in the location. These troops have been directed for necessary treatment by now. Whatever it is, operations including providing further security to the locality is continuing, it was reported.Shown below are some photos taken during operations conducted by the security forces in Aranayaka and Bulathkohupitiya areas.
