DID 23 YEAR OLD SWIMMING TEACHER DIE ....
AFTER FALLING FROM BALCONY IN BAHRAIN, BECAUSE SHE WAS DRUNK?
More information has been published in foreign media regarding the death of the Sri Lankan girl who
died after falling from a balcony on the 9th floor of a government building last Saturday in Bahrain. It was a 23 year old Sri Lankan girl by the name of Nimesha Udari Gunasekera who had died in this instance and she had served as a swimming teacher of a British school in Bahrain. It was learned that she was popular among everybody as 'Candelina', a pseudonym given to her. There had been a function to celebrate the American Independence Day during night time at an American Navy Building known as Claz Plaza in Al Juffar in Bahrain last Saturday 4th of July.
In this connection she had received an invitation and she had attended the occasion with her friends. There are reports to say that she had consumed liquor and was intoxicated. The last evidence received later has been that she had been observed strolling on the spacious balcony on the 9th floor in a drunken stupor. Subsequent to that what her friends were able to notice was that she had fallen below profusely bleeding and lifeless.
Though many people had not volunteered to give evidence about the incident, it has been revealed by the evidence given by a certain person at police investigations that at the moment when she was falling down, a navy officer who was at a lower floor balcony had exerted effort to rescue her but to no avail. Whether she had fallen down because she was not in her proper senses or whether someone had pushed her down still remains a mystery.
Even about a month before this, another person had fallen from a balcony in a nearby hotel close to where the incident took place and the foreign media reported that that death too still is a mystery. Alcoholic drinks are taboo during the Ramazan Season at most places in Bahrain and as this function had been organised as a private one they had been able to secure alcoholic drinks for it, the media reported.
Further investigations by authorities regarding the incident is underway.
