Lieutenant Yoshitha Rajapaksa for training abroad. He had emphasised that Yoshitha Rajapaksa has had only minimum qualifications and had not even proper ordinary level results.Gayantha Karunatilleke had said this in reply to a question raised by JVP member of parliament for Kalutara district Nalinda Jayatissa.
He had further added that without the required qualifications Yoshitha Rajapaksa had been appointed to the Navy as a Lieutenant. He had added that it may have been as his father was the then president of the country Mahinda Rajapaksa. For entering to the Lieutenant rank one has to have six credit passes in the GCE ordinary examination in one sitting. The credit subjects should include Mathematics, English and Science.
However Yoshitha Rajapaksa has obtained only a simple pass for Sinhala he had added.In the year 2014 he had sat for Sinhala and obtained a credit pass.Member of parliament Nalinda Jayatissa had pointed that he had failed to obtain the minimum qualifications in one and the same sitting.
