Subjects at GCE Ordinary Level to be reduced from year 2017
It is reported by the authorities of the Institution of National Education that the number of subjects for the GCE Ordinary Level
examination are to be reduced from year 2017.This had been revealed by the Chairman of the Institution of National Education professor Gunapala Nanayakkara.The main reason for this decision has been as the students sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level are subjected to unnecessary tension and to relieve them of this situation. This decision had been taken after a lot of research made by a number of reputed educationalists over the preceding years.
They authorities of the Institute had also quipped that via this pruning of parts of subjects or subjects totally would not affect the education of the children as only the unwanted sections would be removed from the syllabus.
In this regard the proposed reduction of subjects would be implemented from the year 2107 GCE Ordinary Level examination.
