President in Rome (photographs)
The President Maithripala Sirisena accompanied by his wife who set off to Rome on a special invitation by His Holiness Pope Francis reached Fiumicino Airport last night (13) and were welcomed by Jose Bettancourt, Chief of the
official hierarchy of Vatican, Sri Lanka's Ambassador in Italy, Daya Pelpola, Ambassador to the Vatican and Ravinatha Ariyasingha as well as a gathering of Sri Lankans living in Italy. Minister John Amaratunga, State Minister Sudarshani Fernandopulle and Mrs. Rosy Senanayaka too were present on the occasion.
