Gazette notification on prices of consumer items to be withdrawn?
The gazette notification that was issued by the Ministry of Industries and commercial affairs on the subject of the maximum charges on retail sales that could be tagged on 06 consumer items
issued on the 18th instant without the knowledge of the consumer affairs authority.In this regard discussions are in progress to withdraw this gazette.It is said that a gazette notification of such a notice has to be made with the signature of the Chairman of the consumer affairs authority and at it has to be discussed with him.As this had not been done the Chairman of the consumer affairs authority RKM. Ratnayake has even threatened to resign from his post it is reported.
