Using security men with fake pistols for President's security .... subjected to controversy

Using security men with fake pistols for President's security ....

subjected to controversy

A short while later after President Maithripala returned to Sri Lanka after his tour in Rome, a person with a 9 mm. pistol in his possession was arrested by the Security Unit of the airport and
after the police were informed about it, the episode ended in a somewhat of a commotion. Whatever it is, later it came to be known that this person had been purposely used to detect whether the security proceedings for the President was carried out in the proper manner. Therefore he was released.

As a result of this problematic situation over security measures, it had caused a delay of 5 flights, Director General of Customs told the media. Higher-ups of the Civil Aviation Authority had used a person with a fake pistol to carry out this enquiry of security proceedings. Various opinions about such an action being launched as to whether it is proper as a practical measure is now being expressed. The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva mentions that there is nothing wrong with such an investigation. He also points out that if in case the officer who hid this fake pistol in his possession was not detected by the security officers, it then could be said to be a part of a weakness on the part of the security. He also said that it is the responsibility of the Civil Aviation Authority to look into matters such as whether duties of the airport are being properly carried out, checking whether the pilots are equipped with their licenses as pilots and whether the airport has an efficient security atmosphere.

Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr. Ruwan Gunasekera informed that the police were not notified about this sudden investigation which was to be carried out with a fake pistol being used and that if by chance that fake pistol was kept hidden somewhere on one of his legs and the person concerned was taken into custody, the police in that case would have to resort to court proceedings.

Jackson's second daughter ....

on throes of second marriage!

We published photos of the wedding celebration of the second daughter of popular artiste Jackson Anthony previously about 5 years before this in the year 2010. Information was also published
that it was at a time that her hand was burned and she had been hospitalised for treatment that she had developed this affair with Doctor Aloka, son of well-known artiste Hemasiri Liyanage. Whatever it is, that marriage had gone on the rocks and Madhawee is now getting ready for another marriage. It is in the following manner that she had explained about it to a weekend newspaper recently:

* Madhawee is once again in a romance ... aren't you?
It's this. I also need love. In the same way I love romance too. For me ... life and love are not two things ... one. Because of that it's with love that I plan out all my activities. So even in professional activities also we two get together and go forward in life.

* Are you getting married soon?
No. But parents of course are trying hard with much effort for the marriage. But I have no such hurry. That's because I don't like to do something in a hurry and get disappointed.

* Are you still thinking about the past mistakes?
Conflicts happening in life are not only for me .... it's common to all. The only thing is.... there's a large number of people who know me from my childhood. So there's a lot of people who are concerned about even the little things that happen in my life. So even personal things in our lives some people see as big things. Everybody faces problems. So if those are viewed in a positive angle and they are faced successfully ... there's no problem. Even I faced problems in my life.

* According to what you think Madhawee .... where do you think you went wrong in life?
What happened ... happened. I don't like to have a post-mortem on those things. I am moving forward without thinking on those things. Nobody is trying to stop me either. I have no grudge with anyone either. I am not going to shoot anybody. In the same way I am trying to move forward without being shot by anybody.

* Even if a wrong is done or not ... stories are woven around popular characters. Didn't you     Madhawee also face rumours because of marriage?
According to what I think there were no such big stories woven round me. Sometimes it maybe about those things that happened that those stories are woven. It maybe that some people say and write false stories. Across the internet anybody can express ideas openly. So I don't think one should think big about rumours. I don't keep thinking about matters irrelevant to me and wrongs that I haven't done. Neither will I bear a grudge against anybody. If there is anybody who says such things .... I feel sorry for them.

* You are an artiste as well as someone involved in business ... aren't you?
When you say business .... what I do is organise festivals. But that's not something that's done with a business angle in mind. It's about the tourist industry that I am pursuing studies. It's because of that that I am bent on something like that. Actually it's a very artistically creative type of work.

trying to push chisel into a plug
Unfortunate death of two-year old toddler

A toddler in Wissacolaniya, Weliwatta, Hambantota unfortunately became a victim of electric shock while in his house last Friday.

This 2 years and 8 months old child had tried to
poke a chisel inside a multi-plug and the current flowing along its metal piece had entered the body of the child, thus resulting in this accident. This is how the mother of the deceased boy Vishwa Sandesh explained the incident:
"On the day of the incident I went to the brook with the child to wash him. Later I brought the child home and wiped him by keeping him on the bed. Since that was the time he used to eat, like on other days I kept him on the bed and went to the kitchen to bring his food. I heard the child screaming all of a sudden and when I looked, the child appeared unconscious. He had in fact got down from the bed and had poked a chisel into the multi-plug which was lying on the ground and was still in that position. I quickly switched off the plug and pulled him away. Then I took him to the hospital. What to do oh god .... the child was dead by that time".

It was revealed at the post-mortem that when the mother had gone to the kitchen the child who had tried to play with a chisel lying on the table had then tried to poke a screw driver into an unprotected power plug and had thus got electrocuted. It was also revealed there, that the current had passed through the right hand of the child and had found its outlet from his left leg. Because of using electricity in the house in an unprotected manner where children are, this child too was subjected to an unexpected accident.

What Namal said after publishing an upside down photo

A certain photograph published in the Facebook Page of MP Namal Rajapaksa yesterday was something that perplexed those who saw it for a moment. What was seen there was a scene where former
President Mahinda Rajapaksa was holding a pillow in his hand and hanging from a rope.

It is said that it was clicked when he was engaged in Yoga exercises. A former stately President hanging like this is in one hand something special. On the other hand someone who has completed his 70 years being able to be in this position speaks about his health condition. ("I still can ...."). What Namal says about publicizing a photo of this nature across the Facebook is that since it is the birthday of Mahinda's Yoga teacher who appears in the photo, he has published this as a gift to him. Actually, this teacher is Nanda Siriwardena and because of this photograph he would become even more famous. What Namal further says is that Nanda would be appointed as the teacher of Namal's children too. The comment and photo left by Namal is as follows

-------------------------------------------------

Today is the birthday of a respectable Sri Lankan and teacher. He is none other than outstanding Yoga teacher Nanda Siriwardena. Nobody would have so far seen a souvenir that I bestow on him as the birthday gift.

It is the moment which I clicked on my camera; the day after my loving father's 70th birthday when engaged in Yoga exercises in the company of Guru Nanda.

Mentor, My wish today is that you sir who is the Yoga teacher of me and my father would one day be the mentor of my children too.

Blessings of the Triple! Gem!

Schoolboy dies .... a 'Koththuwa' has turned poison!

An 18 year old schoolboy who had consumed a 'Koththu' rotti in the night bought from a hotel had passed away on 17th Friday, it is reported
from Uragasmanghandiya.

The deceased is a student by the name of Dehemi Ayeshan Pathiraja, a son of a sergeant of Uragasmanghandiya Police. The elder brother of this schoolboy had bought a 'Koththu' rotty from the city and the student having eaten it in the night had engaged in his studies as usual and retired to bed and a few hours later the student had died while in his sleep. This student had been sleeping alone in a room in the house after partaking of the meal but since he had failed to get up the following morning his mother had enquired about him and on noticing that his body had become stiff and cold had yelled out. At that moment the neighbours had come to her assistance and taken the boy to Uragasmanghandiya Hospital; but what the doctors had said was that even by then he had passed away.

It was revealed at the medical examination that the cause of death was that the yeast and flavouring agents in the 'koththu' had been excessive in quantity and the juice of that food had got accumulated in the boy's lungs. It was further mentioned that the gastric juice of that night meal had found its way into the lungs and has resulted in this infectious condition causing death.

This student in fact was a most skillful Volleyball player and equally so in athletic events in the school Karandeniya Madhya Maha Vidyalaya and he was to sit for his Advanced Level Examination next year in the Commerce stream, it was reported. What this student's mother D.G. Sriya (43) and father, police sergeant Nihal Pathiraja (43) said was that it is Ayeshan who happened to be the second child from a family of three boys who faced this fate.

Though 'Koththu' rotty is a popular item of food for Sri Lankans, because of the present demand for it, it is being made available without any standard or criterion as such and Health Authorities have been cautioned to plan out a proper methodology for it.
